WEEK 2
WEEK 2
The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.
However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.
[[Welcome to Week 2! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 2 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Later on in the day Alfyn is in the laboratory, attempting to put his knowledge to use with the ingredients found here. He’s both at home here and also obviously foreign, stopping to check the several (borrowed) books he has laid out. Near one of the books is a notepad he jots notes in for every action he does.
....is it supposed to change colors like that?

labbb is it time for APOTHECARING
Every part of this city is both an open book and a taunt. He'll peruse it at his leisure.
Though speaking of lingering associations and information, it's not hard to guess what Alfyn's playing at, in a general sense. Apothecary is an old-fashioned term, but his profile is otherwise informative. This is also not the weirdest shade of mixture he's seen, considering the people he's worked with.]
... What is that concoction?
[Whether he's giving it a berth because he thinks Alfyn is about to blow everyone to kingdom come or because of his naturally massive personal space bubble, who knows.]

MEETING - DINING ROOM
There was also some pudding and juice to go along with that. ]
Thank you for coming again, everyone.
[ Or everyone who did, nonetheless. ]
I know we had briefly spoken about some new information because of the Lady's spontaneous and ridiculous decision to do what she did to Noelle and Mako. But, I think it'd be best if we came together in a formal meeting to discuss that information properly and anything else we've managed to discover in the meanwhile.
Of course, other topics are free for us to talk about as well as always, including things that came up from last week. There's the motive again, but I think a lot of us are in agreement that The Lady is the last person we should trust. Especially since we don't know how she'll really deliver on it in the first place.
[ And now let the meeting commence! As usual, pretend it's like a mingle and such. ]

He confirmed them to be the native inhabitants of this world. An undefined time ago, something happened to turn them into what they are now. Their original forms, meanwhile, appear to have been human. This is not only evidenced by the town being made for humanoids in design, but also by the ID of one of them that I found in the gym. The photo clearly displayed a human man.
In their current state, they are dangerous and shouldn't be approached. They do fear Rembrandt, however.

[ And since they've been here for a little more than a week now... ]
So... it would seem that either everyone there disappeared -- or transformed, from the sound of it -- only a few days before we arrived here, or at least some people were actually still living their lives there on the other side of the fog when we first showed up.
[ Assuming those ghost things weren't still making sandwiches for their lunch breaks. ]

In case you haven't been paying attention, we have access to the studio of someone who used to create pottery and paintings in Krakow. A man who signed his work as "I.P."... Who may not be with us any more.
They say a picture says a thousand words, so I'll let his drafts do the talking.
[ Here he says something in Cantonese to his double, and it lays out the drafts in order... To show the gradual shift in style, to show the gradual addition of our blue eyed friends and revelation of such features as claws and fangs and scaled bodies... ]
A camera could have been better, but as Mikami said last week we'll have to work with what we got.

He also holds up a key card as he begins speaking.]
I found this in a strange location in the museum. It opened the door to the lab, though I haven't thoroughly examined the place. [At least partially because he's still learning about all the technology this place has to offer.] I do believe it would be good to look it over and see what we can learn. Considering the strange placement of this, [shaking the key card] I'm very curious to see if the lab has anything important inside.
I also spoke to Rembrandt after the incident on Monday. He was quite irritated with the Lady's actions and seemed tired, although he did say he doesn't need to sleep.

[ How to put it, how to put it...
Oh, as plainly as possible. ] Rembrandt said he's, "whatever the Lady needs me to be." Right now, that mostly means he's the janitor.
Before though, he was the one who "managed the logistics" of our stay here. He compiled the information on the profiles, too. [ He's pretty sure that last point came up somewhere before but he isn't super sure. ]

This will do nicely~
[ Maybe he's planning on a romantic evening?
Next, he's gathering up some paper from the Art Studio. Pausing to peek over at Shin's progress with whatever he's doing. Then he's ganking all the xacto knives. These are his now.
His gathering quest is put on hold as he hangs in Rean's Meeting for a bit. Afterwards, he's back to his gathering.
His next stop is the Milk Bar. He's filling a bucket full of ice and water. Next, he's going to look around for take out containers to fill up with really hot soup. ]
Hopefully I can carry all of this...
[ Help him or laugh as he hauls it to the museum?
Eventually he manages to make it to the museum and is heading for the mammoth's head to place all of his stuff down. Heading to the lab to grab the scalpel in case the other sharp things don't work. Now he's ready to go. ]
Mod Ping for if this is successful
Then he'll use the xacto knife to score the glass. Scratching it over and over in the same place to get enough of a scratch in, and make neat crisscrossing lines. Switching to the other knife, and eventually the scalpel if anything feels dull or doesn't seem to be working enough.
Next, he's going to start pouring the ice and water slowly over the spot. Bringing down the glass temperature. He's touching the glass to check it's temp, and letting it chill for a bit. Once it feels cold, he's pushing the ice and water back into the bucket if he can.
Then he's going to dump the hot soup on it. Then he'll step back and grab a couple of candles to toss them on the glass. Does this break the glass? ]

INVESTIGATING MCDONALDS
He's going to go looking for the manager's office inside the McDonalds. Can he find it/get into it?
Besides looking for paperwork/mad cash, Ango can be found gathering nugget sauces. Those things don't expire, and they'll make food here more edible. It's tough, but it's what is needed to survive.
Later, he can be found at the milk bar, attempting to put said sauce on the pierogies. It looks disgusting, and the grimace Ango makes when he tries it shows that pierogies and honey BBQ sauce should not be combined.
Finally, that night, he's going to have a few glowsticks available for people to take if they want. He also has one he has snapped to use as a demonstration for anyone who hasn't seen one before.]
I would prefer these be kept for emergencies only, as I only got a few of them. But I wanted others to have them as well, in case someone gets lost in the dark. These provide a tiny bit of light to see by, and they're very easy to see at a distance. It should keep us from getting lost.

So, once he's all pumped up from the morning workout, he'll make it to the opera house with renewed vigor. The selection of clothes left is not much after certain others raided them, so Suzaku will just pick out the most basic chorus-line peasant looks imaginable - and then put his cape back on over them anyway. Does this look silly? He doesn't know, he has no taste.
With his new outfits picked out though, he'll just stuff his white suit into a bag from props and ...head home? Not quite. He could use another breather, finding a lounge chair to stretch across and ... and that's all. He's staring at the ceiling, looking a bit empty. Actually, he's looked this way since the motive, but who's to know when he's kept to himself. He'd thrown away Lelouch's photo, only for another reminder of his hatred to come back... To make him imagine living in the world where Euphemia still lived because he never existed. Though, he's already decided that could never come true. He's certain it's just like what Charles' Geass had done... simple erasing of the memory, the victim none the wiser about the impact of their forgotten person on the world. Thinking about Nunnally in this context only makes him hate himself even more. He sighs, rolling over. He kind of wants to just sleep here and never wake up again.
.... Though if he sleeps out here more often, it really might happen, huh? Worrying thought.]

INVEST: Subway Tunnels
This likely isn't the first time he's been seen here -- but it's the first time he's stayed here for any length of time. He seems mostly to be staring out at the city, either in thought or just practicing his eternal poker face.
Later on in the day will find him ensconced backstage at the opera, pretty much almost lost in the racks of clothes and the mess of props (or what's left after last week's dust-up). Is he just doing the Grand Preliminary Murder Tour or-- actually, he seems to be hunting for more clothes pins, maybe? He's been wearing the same slightly tattered outfit the whole time, even with new wardrobe options; it's not too scruffy despite the city, so maybe he's been washing it. A certain cursed doll in an even more cursed style sits nearby, watching with bright eyes.
And finally, before the sun sets, because for every action there must be an equal and opposite reaction: he makes his way down, down, down into the subway tunnels below the city, still carrying his single unscented candle (half-melted) like some unnecessarily dramatic main character in a Victorian gothic horror novel or whatever.
He's even wearing what could pass for one of those long night gowns. You really can't fault Las Noches for going for the theme here. How far can he go into the subways, and is there anything of note down here?]
