WEEK 1
WEEK 1
Your hosts have come and gone, and have left you with nothing but more questions and a key. Regardless of how you reacted or what you decided to do soon after that, it’s a fact that the day must end eventually.
And so it does, with the striking of the clock. As the twelve gongs reverberate and disappear into the night, the rest of the city is left silent save for a chilly wind that skims the streets. Those who have retired to their assigned rooms will find that the furnishings are decent enough to get a good night’s sleep, while those who wander the city will only continue to see empty streets and fog. But regardless of how you spend the night, eventually it will become readily apparent that dawn will not be coming any time soon as the waxing moon continues to hang in the sky even as the clock strikes six or seven or eight.
No one’s stopping you from wallowing in bed or holing up in a building during this perpetual night, but there’s a whole city out there to check out and some interesting additions to the Opera House decor; don’t forget though, a cage is a cage and every good cage needs its bars. While a portion of the streets and buildings are clear, any intrepid explorers won’t find themselves able to get very far through the fog that surrounds them; anyone who tries to venture through will end up getting turned around and end up right back where they started. Still, there’s plenty of other places to check, even if the fog-shrouded buildings are more or less off limits. Fortune favors the bold, after all.
[[Welcome to Week 1! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also now privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt at your leisure!]]

MEETING - DINING ROOM
Of course he had gone about setting up a table with food—some tomato stew to go along with some cookies. There's also some fruit juice he made from some strawberry preservatives, so have fun with that. ]
Thank you for coming together, everyone. I think a good place to start could be anything we've managed to figure out in the coming days, and to also talk about our backgrounds...though it seems like some of that was put up on the profiles.
[ Rip their privacy, he guessed. ]
After all of that, we can see about together with a plan—whether that be an escape plan depending on the information gathered, or brainstorm ways that'll help us fight back against The Lady and Rembrandt. One thing at a time, of course, but also in light of the motive I want to stress that we can't trust what they say, or even what they're supposedly showing to us.
And if someone has anything they want to discuss that doesn't fit into those categories, go for it. We're all in this together.
[ Treat this like a large mingle, where people are free to threadhop, wherever. \o/ ]

...He'll take a cookie, though. And then stand back against a wall somewhere. ]
I'll second the obvious fact that we shouldn't take anything they tell us at face value. Images like what they showed us could be easily faked with the technology available in some worlds, mine included.
...And, since I imagine some of you are probably wondering, I'll go ahead and confirm that yes, my profile is accurate.

Jokes aside, he'll nod at his words with a small smile—he appreciates Rideaux saying that, honestly. ]
I'll confirm mine is too. But, I'm not surprised they're able to gather information on us like that.
no subject
Myself, I'm from a world that is very similar to the one we're in right now. I haven't been able to verify any major differences aside from the unusual perpetual night here. I've never personally been to Poland, but if you need information about this world, I may still be able to help you.
On the other hand, I have come to understand that many of you are from worlds with magic. You might be able to shed some more light on our captor's methods and capabilities.

[..........there's a fuckton of weird shit Rhea's got in the basement but like, Rhea has fuck all to do with this, she's in jail.]
no subject
Sorry, but I'm stumped. There's definitely magic in my world—and I bet someone clever could figure out how they did all this. They'd even be able to tell you why it's always dark outside.
But I'm no mage, I've got no idea how this stuff works.

At the very least, I believe the threat of hostage execution could contradict whatever prevents them from killing us themselves. There was a loophole in the last threat she gave, and one in this one as well.
[Suzaku's tone is cold. He knows it's easy for him to say. When it comes to his hostage, the only reason he wouldn't want Rembrandt to kill him is because he'd rather do it himself.]
I haven't discovered much since I've been resting my foot. I'll listen to whatever anyone has to say, though.
[which includes asking him further questions about fighting Rembrandt of course.]
no subject
...Oh and I did have a conversation with The Lady a day ago. I'll sum up what information I've managed to get out of her so far.
[ On account of accidentally walking in on her and tracking in mud. It's fiiine. ]
She apparently set up shop in the bookstore to keep a closee eye on us. When I asked her about it, she said it was to keep things from going 'awry'. By that I've assumed by things not going to their plans. She also said that in her world, people were trying to get their hands on her knowledge and power, which seems to imply she's not from here.
She's mentioned that towns' lives revolved around her, and that people would even give their lives to serve her—though I had a hard time imagining that. And she's said that there's hardly anyone who's heard of her world that doesn't admire or fear her. She even called herself a 'living legend".
I probably should've thought to ask some other questions, but I really hadn't planned on visiting her at all in the first place. Still, I hope knowing this information could help us as well.

I just spoke with Rembrandt. He told me that our worlds are safe, but I'd take that with a grain of salt.
[ a pause. ]
There's more to him than what we've seen so far. He said something to me that I assumed was telepathic, but it felt more like it was an in-between of telepathy and spoken word. I don't know how else to describe it.
