WEEK 1

WEEK 1

Your hosts have come and gone, and have left you with nothing but more questions and a key. Regardless of how you reacted or what you decided to do soon after that, it’s a fact that the day must end eventually.

And so it does, with the striking of the clock. As the twelve gongs reverberate and disappear into the night, the rest of the city is left silent save for a chilly wind that skims the streets. Those who have retired to their assigned rooms will find that the furnishings are decent enough to get a good night’s sleep, while those who wander the city will only continue to see empty streets and fog. But regardless of how you spend the night, eventually it will become readily apparent that dawn will not be coming any time soon as the waxing moon continues to hang in the sky even as the clock strikes six or seven or eight.

No one’s stopping you from wallowing in bed or holing up in a building during this perpetual night, but there’s a whole city out there to check out and some interesting additions to the Opera House decor; don’t forget though, a cage is a cage and every good cage needs its bars. While a portion of the streets and buildings are clear, any intrepid explorers won’t find themselves able to get very far through the fog that surrounds them; anyone who tries to venture through will end up getting turned around and end up right back where they started. Still, there’s plenty of other places to check, even if the fog-shrouded buildings are more or less off limits. Fortune favors the bold, after all.

[[Welcome to Week 1! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also now privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt at your leisure!]]

I've yet to speak with someone with whom the histories matched up entirely, but I've heard of Poland, as well as certain 'abilities'.... although I wouldn't be comfortable calling them magic. I feel that word carries some implication of benevolence that I wouldn't apply to anything so loathsome.

[he just says this with an entirely straight face. judgment]

At first, I thought the gap in our memories meant we'd all been subject to one. However, if the Lady had the power of that Geass, she wouldn't need to tempt us to kill someone. She could command us, and we would do it.

[He could rage so much more, but he keeps it in check, stays on topic. A few other things are coming back to him now that he thinks about what he learned from V.V.]

Then again, it's not the only kind of Geass out there. Her mask does look strikingly similar to some I've seen in Britannia.

[ Command someone to do something, huh...? Well, that's... It probably doesn't relate to certain events in Mikami's world at all, but it still gives him pause. ]

That 'Geass', as you call it, does it leave people with memory of what they've been commanded to do?
youspinmeknightround: (booboos)

[personal profile] youspinmeknightround 2020-01-08 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither that, nor the memory they've followed the command, unfortunately.

[ .............. welp. ]

Do you think that ability might also exist in different worlds?
youspinmeknightround: (like a record baby)

[personal profile] youspinmeknightround 2020-01-09 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
There's a lot I don't know about Geass...but based on how it's acquired, I'd guess it must be rare enough that the chances of it being in other worlds are slim.

[like if they're all here now then TECHNICALLY someone could go make a contract in his world and then go somewhere else, but this is definitely not an idea he wants to put in people's heads.]
inordertobelieve: (stern: glasses removal)

[personal profile] inordertobelieve 2020-01-09 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Could you elaborate?

[ This is totally in the name of figuring out their current situation and not at all some kind of vested personal interest. Shhh. ]
youspinmeknightround: (booboos)

[personal profile] youspinmeknightround 2020-01-09 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[fine but only because it's still possible the lady has one with her stupid eye mask.]

Well... I hear it has to be bestowed by another individual who has it. That's all.
inordertobelieve: (emotional: phonecall)

[personal profile] inordertobelieve 2020-01-10 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ It was absolutely useless. Thanks ]

I see... well, that doesn't give us anything to be on the look-out for regarding the ability. It's too bad.
moonfang: (okei)

[personal profile] moonfang 2020-01-09 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
So, what's a "Geass" exactly? [he definitely says it "Gay Ass"] Mind control?
youspinmeknightround: (I will spin on u so gd fast)

[personal profile] youspinmeknightround 2020-01-09 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. The one I spoke about forces the person to absolutely obey a single command. While that's happening, it really does control their mind - they're not themselves while they obey the order, and it can never be taken back.

There's another one I witnessed that can rewrite a person's memories to whatever lie they'd like them to live. I don't know as much about that one, but... It seems like Geass are all some kind of curse on the mind.

[-and he's taking that 'gay ass' as an honest mistake but please continue]
Edited (it felt wrong to leave it unacknowledged) 2020-01-09 10:30 (UTC)
moonfang: (you talk too much)

[personal profile] moonfang 2020-01-10 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Geez, that's kind of horrifying. Though... well within the realm of what certain Zanpakutou can do, too. There's rules and such of course. Where does this power come from?
