WEEK 2

The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

[Right, right, he's got it A bit of loud shouting before they set the jar up, right? Ango can do that.]

[That should be loud enough. Time to set the mason jar down, back up, and let Dazai's plan hopefully work out.]

[ Totally believes him.

Okay, it's activation time. ]

[It doesn't even take a second. The moment the power activates, the glass container shatters instantly as the sound of shouting rings through the room. Good thing you guys moved back, because there's a veritable explosion of glass as the exhibit cover shatters, force of the whole thing spraying shards and droplets of dilute soup every which way. ...In fact, it was effective enough to also break some of the glass of the closely adjacent exhibits too, so that's going to be a fun time for whoever (if anyone) decides to clean this all up.

But hey, congrats! The trilobite exhibit has been successfully opened, although just be careful about running your hands through it considering all the glass fragments (and dilute soup???) that's also around.]

[ That's 1) Louder than he expected and 2) A LOT OF GLASS AND SOUP.

Blinking fora moment before he grins over at Ango. ]

[ hopefully no one is without shoes.

He'll grab one of his taper candles to use to shift around inside of there. What do we have in here? He's going to push glass off each thing, before reaching in to collect each trilobite to put in the non-ice bucket. Is there anything weird about them as he picks them up? ]

[They're still trilobites! Just like what you saw through the glass, but now you get the once in a lifetime chance to manhandle a genuine fossil from the Cambrian period. Someone out there (who is not Ango) is probably screaming at this whole thing but yolo sometimes you just gotta break open museum exhibits for science.

...Well, a different kind of science, anyway.

Flavor text aside, no, there's nothing that really sticks out about them. Hopefully he finds the experience cool though!]

[ Ango can scream at him later over what he just did.

And he does find it cool! Just going to grab everything, that isn't shattered glass, to squirrel away. Though he might cut his fingers a little bit. ]

[He can do that! Ain't nobody gonna stop him from grabbing all those fossils if he wants. And maybe he can even sell them back to the museum later to make more $$$ you never know, let Dazai be a Polish multi-millionaire*.

Anyways there's nothing else here to find beyond that!

*fossils may not actually be worth millions]

[Dazai was the one who wanted these things in the first place, so he waits for Dazai to finish investigating them before he asks:]

Did you find what you were looking for?

[ Just going to lift up one of the fossils with the hand that isn't bleeding to show. ]

Yup, I did. This was the case that the Lady was trying to get into.

...so she wanted fossils.

And you better bandage up that hand, Dazai-kun.

I will. I still have some left from the first-aid kit.

[ Additional bandages, yay. ]

Not sure why. Only one way to find out, though.

Please be careful when you talk to her. You already saw how she twisted my words. Rembrandt may be the safer one to ask.

You're right. She might lash out.

[ He honestly feels both are dangerous equally for different reasons. ]

I'll ask him first.

He might give you ammunition to use in your talk with her, too. For all that they work together, they don't seem to communicate as much as partners should.

I heard. Sounds like he didn't approve of her actions the other night.

Disillusioning him to her goals may be the way out of here.
