WEEK 2
WEEK 2
The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.
However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.
[[Welcome to Week 2! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 2 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

in soviet Krakow... setting investigate YOU
How much heavier is it?? Does it shake, rattle or roll? Or does he need to stare into its eyesockets lovingly to commune with it.]

Strange. He'll set it down and move his candle closer to see if the light can catch anything. A preview before he tries reaching for it. Could always be some kind of mini-supernatural rodent waiting to bite his unfortunately human-adjacent fingers off. It's not unheard of, after all.]

If there's nothing else to find in the deer head he'll just examine the keys he found. How many are there, what do they look like, and if there's any indication as to where they go. There are still plenty of locked doors in this city...]

There's still a few prominent doors that come to mind right away. He might as well take a stroll; that's all he's been doing lately. To the opera's restaurant kitchen we go -- it's more or less useless to him, but he'll have a go at matching up a key.
Anything?]

Strolling onward we will go. The kitchen door here is modern which eliminates a little over half the keys! What Ulquiorra is left with are modern keys with different colored handles, and after discounting the keys that clearly wouldn't fit the only possible matches are blue, green, red, yellow, and black keys. This won't be a long affair probably, but what key is he trying first? ]
no subject
Fine, he'll start by trying the brightly colored ones. Green, then red and yellow if that one doesn't go. Black and blue can be saved for last since that's what the door would look like if he had his powers and didn't have to worry about actual locks. SMH.]

Green is a nada. But red works, it's the color of the opera house interior and apparently the key follows the same motif. You now have access to the opera house kitchen... which Ulquiorra probably won't use but hey, you did it!
no subject
OK no, he's not going to bother either way, it doesn't matter that much. And he'll take a moment to look around the kitchen, too -- presumably it's more well-stocked than the other kitchens and possibly has more knives?? Are there bodies in the fridge or anything fresh or like. Signs of recent use. Blue's Clues all the way to town, bitch.]
no subject
There's no clear signs of blatant ransacking, but the bunch of tomatoes does have spaces where a few were torn off from the vine. Other produce also indicate similar use. ]

Important other question, there are totally more knives here, right.
And since it happened in the other kitchens, is there any sort of writing or menus or orders or whatever in evidence here, or is it just a very empty kitchen with some signs of wear and tear?]
no subject
Yes, there are more knives and they're of much higher quality than those in clergy housing or the milk bar. There's even a sharpening stone, neat. No menus on the wall because that's likely a healthcode violation even in poland, but there is a lone cookbook to be found on the prepspace next to an empty wine rack. Notably, this is in English as opposed to everything else here that's been in Polish, and it's also earmarked to a certain page. ]

First come first serve, after all. Speaking of which, who stole the wine, y'all. Is the Lady just literally drinking her way through the city here. Oi.
For the most part, cookbooks and alcohol are both equally useless to him at the moment, but he takes a moment to look into it, anyway. The uniqueness of the book is noted; it's flipped through for anything else that might catch the eye, but otherwise he'll just take it with him for later perusal. Given he really, really doesn't need a cookbook, it might be returned, but later.]

+1 cookbook added to inventory. There's nothing else to see here, but hey you did score some loot. ]
