WEEK 2

The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

A discussion I had with The Lady revealed that she may be facing some sort of threat back in her home world. Someone powerful who has thousands of followers and the means to manipulate people for their own goals. The Lady mentioned that she would've loved to subject this person to her experiments, but decided it was best to leave them alone.

If she does perceive this person to be a threat, I believe we are being used to further The Lady's own goals in stopping her.

So she's from another world as well... Did she mention anything else about this person or about the world she's from?

No. That was all I was able to get from her. But that could be an interesting topic of discussion to bring up with her later.

I doubt she'll be willing to tell me anything, but it's certainly something to keep in mind.

Please. Back where she came from, the Lady is the threat. She's mentioned conquering territories and slaughtering the families of those in power while sighing to me about how her genius just isn't understood.

We discuss ambition sometimes, it's an interesting topic with her.

Did she also happen to tell you that she feels like she isn't human anymore?

She did say that much to me during their introduction.

Hm. Then yes, it seems like she was referring to herself, then. She actually mentioned that the "person" hardly has human form anymore and their existence and identity were shrouded in mystery.

So she views herself as both a powerful hero and a victim, apparently.

She seems incredibly angry at the self-righteous. Calling them hypocrites and insisting that anyone would do as she's done if given the means and the opportunity. So it's certainly something along those lines.

That sounds somewhat familiar to me, but the actual personalities don't match at all. I almost want to apologize to Edeglard von Hresvelg for thinking about it, and she is my enemy.

I wouldn't call her a threat.

One time I came by and she pretended as if she were about to fire from a handheld cannon at me as if it had lethal rounds.

...It was a marshmallow that came out, in place of any real ammo. She seemed really proud about new experiment, especially since she had drawn it out into some kind of sing song and dance after she suddenly locked the door.

I'm sure that whoever has been calling you immature would change their mind upon hearing that.

Oh my god. She's such a moron.

...And to think, she's the one who acts like we're the ones who are.

Most people who are dumb have no idea how dumb they really are....
