WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]
investigation!
Anyway, Monday morning means time to check out the new locations! Iago's first stop is obviously going to be the boutique. With no one around and plenty of dark and warm clothes to check through, he'll be here for awhile. He is absolutely not leaving without several outfits, though his aesthetic tends to be way more weird than anything in here.
After that, he can be found in the tarot shop. Most of this stuff is entirely unfamiliar, but it's pretty much his aesthetic and he is absolutely looting stuff from here too. So many of those pretty stones are going with him, there's no stopping the looting. Maybe he'll even snag that one single crystal ball as well... Oh, and while he's here, he might as well investigate, starting with the stones because those are the most fascinating things in here since he doesn't know anything about tarot.
The end of the day finds him back home in his favorite spot, the museum. You won't actually find him taking notes this time, it looks like he's just here to enjoy the electricity and light; he's found a bench and is currently doing something in a sketchbook, though it's a bit hard to tell what from this angle since he's intentionally positioned himself so no one can sneak up on him. Just to be safe, of course! We don't need another murder in this amazing place!!]
boutique;
With this, he might be able to help a certain someone in fitting into clothes better. But, there was really a lot to see here...so he thought he might actually might be a little overwhelmed himself. ]
...Haha, enjoying the selection too?
no subject
Of course! Finally we have something a bit more appropriate for the weather, even though most of these are a bit plain...
[...he's totally going to wear the cape with them, i'm so sorry.]
Have you come to find something as well?
no subject
It only took them how long?
[ ... Godspeed, Iago, with your cape. But hey maybe there's something that'd look good with it?? ]
Yeah. I was hoping to find some fabrics and materials to put something together...but I didn't expect for there to be so much variety.

Considering all we've had for so long are the costumes from the opera house, this is a blessing. What are you planning on making, though?

Not quite your usual style, is it?
[ The crazy opera costumes seemed more IC tbh ]
no subject
Not at all, but I'll take being warm over my preferred style at this point.
[...also because the opera costumes don't really fit his aesthetic either. most of the men's clothes aren't wild enough!!]
no subject
[ He's pretty sure that most of them outside of his little Teen Girl Squad would take anything over his preferred style, so at least that works out well for everyone. ]

Instead, he finds Iago.]
Oh? You're here too?
[He has a deck of cards in his hand that he had been looking at too.]
no subject
So it would seem.
[iago no]
I imagine you're here to see what this place has to offer?
[...he is immediately going to check out the cool rocks, don't mind him.]
no subject
[He's trying to be funny, but he does see Iago as a valuable person. That part is genuine.]
I was also hoping to find things like incense and lighters.

Before he can start properly raiding the shop though, he spots Iago browsing through its offerings.]
Iago! Had you not been here already, I would have made sure to drag you over.
[Dist, please.
He wanders over to see what Iago's looking at.]
We ought to try outfits on together.
[It sounds like fun?! People died so they could have some more fun.]
no subject
Certainly, I would appreciate your discerning eye to assist.
[He's been primarily looking at the thicker coats because it's cold, but he gestures to the suits that Dist has undoubtedly already had an eye on.]
Help me pick something out. I'm unfamiliar with these styles.
[...]
And I'm sure it goes without saying, but I'm keeping the mask on.
[there is no way you can possibly make the mask look good with a suit, good luck dist!!]
no subject
How could Iago possibly guess the suits Dist was looking at though...is he that obvious... Sarcasm aside, he's quick to pull Iago over to the suits.]
Oh, this will be easy.
[He starts selecting some options for Iago to try- shirts, jackets, pants, ties... And he makes sure there are plenty of gold accents to go with the mask. It's definitely more toned down on the eccentric front, but unfortunately, those accents are tragically missing from this boutique.
Speaking of the mask, though...]
What is your attachment to that mask, Iago? I am curious.
[It's genuine curiosity. Since he an Iago are on good terms, he feels comfortable in finally asking about it. Does Iago have a scar under there or something...?]

That said, Iago isn't the only one that's found their way in here, and he isn't even the only person that's found their way to the crystals; he's looking them over with a bit of an Expression, and once in a while he'll pick them up and turn them over in his hands, though he doesn't seem to know what to make of them.]
I have to wonder what these are even used for here.
no subject
[ty iago]
If I had to guess, I'd assume they're a conduit, but there's been no other indication of magic being present in this world, so I suppose that isn't likely. They are pretty though.
[so you know what that means, we're going to steal them.]
no subject
They're similar to blastia, in ways. I won't know for sure until we're under a better light source, but it's what they remind me of.

Ranging in several unique colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple), each stone represents a different chakra which corresponds to a different area on the body, at least according to the handy pamphlet next to the stones. Using them can apparently stimulate their respective chakra, if you believe in such a thing. ]

Maybe he shouldn't be nosy, he doesn't like people being nosy about him.

but he's gonna be nosy.]
Good... evening, I suppose. I see you are working on something, then?
no subject
I am, yes.
[...there are so many colored pens here... Iago at least has the decency to stop what he's working on and look up when Seteth addresses him.]
It's nothing particularly important. Is there something you need?
