WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

And yet people still believe in fortune-telling and the like.

[But that's not the point, so he'll dismiss it once that's out there. He just has to correct people about magic okay, leave him alone!!]
I'm surprised such things ever gained popularity in your world. I believe you've said those abilities aren't something most people know about, is that correct?

You are correct. It's quite rare, and ability-users are encouraged to keep quiet about what they can do. So most people go their entire lives without ever meeting someone who has an ability.
Honestly, if it weren't pertinent to our situation here, I never would have revealed that I have an ability.

[...Seteth, he's talking about Seteth.]

It's human nature to keep secrets. We have too much of an ego, and we want everyone to see specific versions of ourselves. I suspect the only fully-honest people we have seen so far have been the culprits, at the trials.

[Which is probably why Shin said. That. All of that. Gods.]

[Ango tries not to think of the secrets he will spill in his last moments. He intends on taking many of them to the grave.]
I will admit, I thought I would meet my end in the line of duty, not in a place like this.

[Just a bit. Not like he's been going mildly (more) insane this entire time or anything, nope!!!!]
Tell me about your duty. I'm curious to hear just what it is you do.
