WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

MEETING - HOTEL RESTAURANT
Today was a simple sort of food. He had a a small bowl of fresh fruit, fish sandwiches, some potato croquettes, and fruit juice. Though, Rean knew that people tended not to eat much at the meeting, so the portions were conservative.
Once everyone was in, he'll speak. ]
It's good to see everyone here. There's a lot I think we've probably managed to figure out over the few days, and the past week. So I believe starting with what we've learned would be a good starting point.
[ ... ]
At some point, we can probably talk about the state of the dead, what with them being over in Twilight, and the messages they gave. Then after that, we could possibly look into forming a plan of action, depending on how much information we have, and then go from there.
[ Treat this like a large mingle, where people are free to threadhop, wherever. \o/ ]

Dist and I had discovered something while investigating the subway last week and it's taken a little bit of some time to process. It seemed like there was some kind of ... large, visible electrical discharge going through from one side of the subway straight into the fog underground. It was kind of off and on.
...I also really don't know why there's fog underground, but there was.

Why didn't Lady tap into that for a power source?
[ If there is electricity still down there... why didn't she scavenge parts there? ]

[That's it, that's all he's got. But with the talk of barriers and odd varieties of power, there's something to it all for sure.]

Lady said she met Rembrandt in their world. She's had seven assistants total, and he's the best so far.
[ He isn't sure if it's help but it's something. ]
Also it looks like someone took down a lot of posters or papers from the Manager's Office in the Arcade. No idea what could have been hanging up there.

[Here, look at this. It's a sales tag reading: "Daemonologie now only 271,00 ZLOTY!!!"]
There were quite a few books missing, and there wasn't a single one on "daemonologie" or anything of the sort.

I suspect it has more to do with the original residents than anything else, but it did catch my eye.

"K" was the first initial on a patch I found in one of the bags in the museum lockers, as well.
[ The one he stole the eyeliner from, if we have to be specific. ]
It seems like a common enough letter for first names to start with here, so there's no reason to think there's any connection, but it may be worth keeping in mind.

Okay, slapping down that book (Mechanical and Electrical Systems for Construction Managers) he stole from the Lady's room with his left hand and opening it up to where he stuck the letter draft. He puts down the spool of copper wire too, it's free for anyone to take if they want the Lady's garbage. ]
As for this stuff, it all comes from the Lady. Or, to be more exact, the Lady's room. Before you ask, her room was a total pigsty, which kind of makes me wonder what the heck Rembrandt's cleaning up in that place. [ Nothing? Gotta be nothing. ] There were machine parts everywhere, a couple of letters to Rembrandt telling him to get her tea or where she'd be, and but before I could poke around more Rembrandt found me.
Oh, and you can thank Zangetsu for all of this. He's the one who helped me get over the wall.

cw corpse desecration ???
.... the dead? Messages? How can you bring this up so casually?
[ Someone has NOT been caught up on the information.
Later when he's been brought up to speed, he'll add his own topic to the meeting though. ]
I hate that it has come to a point where this needs to be brought up, but we should take tally on what to do with our respective bodies in case of the worst. I, for myself, am not going to be made into an experiment for the Lady. My body shall give her no benefit. Should I die here, I implore all of you to destroy my brain right after the investigation. .... I also don't consent to being eaten.
If anyone else has made up their minds about the treatment of their mortal remains, please share with the group, so your memory can be honored according to your wishes.

She mentioned her only criteria for picking and choosing her subjects is whether she'll have any use for them. [ a beat, then she turns to face ango. ]
She specifically mentioned that she wanted you, Ango, for your deductive powers.
