WEEK 4

WEEK 4

Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.

But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.

[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

It could be that they are attempting to encourage us to use our powers to do the deed as a means of observing the results of their experiments. That seems like the sort of thing they would do.

That certainly is true, and it does seem as though there's a mostly even distribution of those powers. I doubt either of them will confirm that, but that's an excellent theory.

I doubt they would confirm it either, but then again, people seem like they have been getting things resembling answers out of them. I have no idea how much they can be trusted, granted, but it's not impossible, I suppose.

Oh, agreed. There's no telling how much of what they say is the truth, but learning what we can from them is the best option we have at present.

[Well, aside from INVESTIGATING, but most of that is stuff we still don't know what to do with, so.]

I wish the things we were discovering by exploring the city fit together more cleanly. I do not know what to make of most of them, or how relevant anything we learn even is.

I feel the same way. It feels as though we aren't making much progress right now, but there's little else we can do. With any luck, we'll begin to see how all of these pieces fit together in time.

[But that doesn't stop it from being frustrating as hell right now.]

I believe so as well. Perhaps once we have access to all the pieces, we'll see how they fit together, but it feels like there is much missing.

...

[He lowers his voice as another thought strikes him.]

There are also, well, the dead, if they manage to contact us again.

[There's a moment of hesitation before he nods, and he keeps his voice low when he responds as well.]

I'm curious to know more about their situation and... well, if they're all there.

[Pizza. He's talking about Pizza and Pizza's weird death.]

I don't know if they'll choose the same way to communicate, but that's why I'm in here at night, just in case.

[not because he cares or anything!!!!!!! it's just because there's electricity!!!!!!!]

...It would be nice to know if. Well. They're doing...

[...he tries to find the correct word for it...]

...well for the circumstances. You know what I mean.

Yes, of course. We have no way of knowing exactly what they're dealing with, and the last method of communication was a bit limited.

And what we did learn of what they're dealing with is... worrisome. I do have faith in those I got to know well before we lost them, at least, but it's still very concerning.

Tell me more about Lysithea. She's from your world, correct? I only spoke with her once, but she seems very bright.

[Past-tense doesn't exactly feel accurate since she's still around in some form...]
