WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Let's see what general guidance has to say, first.

[Ango deals out three cards, and the first is a nine of pentacles. But when he flips it over, it's upside-down.]
Now this is interesting. Each card has a meaning, but when a card is shown upside-down like this, then we are meant to infer the opposite of the card's meaning. While the nine of pentacles normally means being rich and plentiful, having it reversed like this means recklessness with wealth and living beyond one's means.

All right...?

High. Priestess.]
Er...it seems the answer to 'what you need to do now' is going to be found within yourself. And not just in a 'figure out this problem' kind of way, this more means listening to your intuition. And...
[The booklet that came with the cards sure did say a ton about femininity and the virgin mary, but he gets the feeling that he should not mention that part right now.]
...hmm. That's a bit vague, but the third card might have more insight?

I...should sincerely hope so, yes.

I'm sure there's some explanation that doesn't involve mysterious women making judgments.
[aaaaand that sure is a naked lady on that card.]
...
I know the picture looks like something, but it actually means 'holding onto hope even through tough times.'

Does it...?
[That last one is actually interesting, though, even if the first two are kind of "what". Hm.]
I suppose it's something to keep in mind, anyway.

I will admit, this isn't quite my specialty. There may be some hidden meaning behind these particular cards combined that I'm missing. Yours does seem the strangest of all the ones I've done so far.

[Hmm.]
If we have specific questions, do we have to tell you what they are, or is just knowing them enough?

[This is going to be so dumb.]
I have two different questions, then. I'd prefer to keep them to myself.

[First card: queen of wands.]
Hmm...I suppose this card can be best summed up as 'determination'. Whatever it is you're asking, you already have an answer in mind and you want it met in a certain way. But this card is generally a positive one, so take it as encouragement to seek out the answer you want? If it's a 'yes' or 'no' question, I would take this as a 'yes'.
no subject
[...That actually seems to be a good "I see" as opposed to one with a general undercurrent of WHY. He likes that answer, apparently.]
And the second?
no subject
Hmm. Whatever you were going to ask, this card means 'tearing down the old and building anew'. What you've held onto in the past will be useless to you, so you need to give up those old ways and find new answers.
no subject
[WE APPEAR TO BE GETTING RID OF THE OLD BY...THROWING THEM OFF A BUILDING]

Hopefully the answers help you. I'm sorry I couldn't explain it more, though I can offer up the information booklet if you want to know more?
