The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

Very true. If anyone would be doing it, it would be Rembrandt.

He should really ask for a pay raise.

[ Who knows if he's getting paid. ]

I doubt he's being paid at all. But the Lady does have something he wants, so I can only imagine how important it must be to him.

She does have a nice castle she's staying in. There's probably plenty of perks for him to follow after her.

[ Hmmm. Time to see if there's any paint ]

Most likely. I do wonder how long they've been working together, though...

Who knows~ If we're taking their words for truth, then sometime after this place lost power.

[psychophant]

I doubt they're lying to us about everything, but it's a bit hard to tell what's true and what isn't.

[deadlygoals]

[ There's a pause as he considers it for a moment. ]

She didn't seem like she was lying about it.

What else did she have to say about it?

Not much~ She got mad when I asked for a tour of her castle.

[psychophant]

I can't say I'm surprised by that. I do wonder what she's keeping in there... I doubt either of them will let us in, unfortunately.

She was really, really mad at the idea. With her hobby, I wouldn't be surprised if she made sure to invent some traps and devices to keep people out.

[psychophant]

I can understand why she'd be paranoid about letting any of us in - if she's human, any of us could likely kill her. Still, something about it strikes me as strange...

Right? If she was afraid of us killing her or booting her out, I doubt she would have reacted that extremely. She was pounding on the table and throwing a tantrum.

There has to be something in there.

That extreme...? Interesting.

["Interesting" is understating it a lot, actually.]

Have you tried asking Rembrandt about it?

Not yet. Thought if I asked him too soon after her little...display, it might put them on guard.

That's certainly fair. I don't know how much they share with each other about our conversations, but it's best to play it safe and assume that they're on the same page.

She seems like the type to complain or talk a lot. While, he probably only shares if it's important.

[psychophant]

That does seem to be the case...

[Hmm.]

I imagine it would be easier to get more information from her, but I haven't had much luck with it.

[ Looking him over. Hmm. ]

What kind of technology do you have in your world?

[psychophant]

Nothing much compared to this one. My world seems a bit... behind in terms of technological advancement. We do have a greater focus on magic, however.

[deadlygoals]

Then you might be at a disadvantage. She likes technology and figuring out how it works.

[psychophant]

Does she? I suppose that makes sense, but I hadn't thought much about it.

[Hmm... Well, maybe she'll like explaining it as much as she likes asking about it.]
