EPILOGUE
As the world they've been living in so long quickly dissolves around them, the oppressive air from the Gate fades away from their senses and their vision turns turns completely white. It only takes an instant for their sight to return, but when it does, they'll find themselves in the same dim, dank chamber that they were in a moment before albeit with several main differences: the Gate and the machines that were clustered near it are now gone.
However, you'll only be able to take in this sight for a few seconds before the scenery blurs and suddenly there's the scent of the cool December air brushing past your face, blinding sunlight assaulting the eyes.
It's been six weeks since you've seen anything but the night, so it may take a bit of adjustment before realizing that there's a number of very, very familiar faces before you, as well as one who might not be so recognizable. Either way, one thing is for sure: that long, long Night is over, and it's the start of another Day.
Witamy w Krakowie.
[[Everyone will find themselves in the Main Square. Furthermore, those who had body horror will find that all traces of it are gone!]]

Or you can find him in the bookstore, where he is... looting? Yeah, he's looting. The selection here isn't great for his standards, but he needs to take some Earth books to fantasy world or he'll die. For someone who values the law, he is sure looking fairly relaxed and contented while stealing......... This time did a number on him. ]

Yes, the difference. There has to be a reason all details about this place were removed from the material we saw.

Oh, that. The previous pictures lacked the lamposts that dotted the Night. They were the first step in funneling the power she needed to open the gate.

[ He has wasted THIS MUCH TIME on the lamp posts? The lamp posts that they later learned about anyway and that didn't particularly help them with solving this mess anyway? Those lamp posts? Wow. This is. underwhelming. ]
What an inane way to conceal it.

[ HE'S SO MAD ABOUT HOW MUCH TIME HE WASTED ON THIS. ]
What an utterly despicable woman.
[ Not just because of the magazines but also in general. ]

By the way, by whose hand would I have died? Did God already plan for it all along?
[ Because now that he thinks about it, if his death was actually fated via the Kira murder weapon instead of being general ~divine retribution~ then the timing of him being written doesn't make much sense. ]

Oh~ I see a bunch of cat hair on you still.

[ THE CAT STUFF WAS SO HUMILIATING, DAZAI. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. ]

You did well, Teru.

... did I? [ He's not super convinced. His performance today was... spotty, at best. ]
Well, we are certainly all still alive. I never want to think about how I taste to anybody again, however.
no subject
[ He can already guess why it was tempting. ]
Enough about that then. What are you shopping for?
no subject
I want to take some Earth books with me when I leave for Terca Lumireis. The selection here is abysmal, but it's not as though we'll get a chance to go to a better store before we depart.

But moving along... ]
Have you checked if the castle has anything worthwhile?
[ There won't be any cats there... unless we count Mikami's fur suit ]

[ He considers for a moment, but... ]
Anything in there is likely to be cultural heritage of Poland.
[ TOO VALUABLE TO STEAL. ]
Bookstore
You know, Wagner was paying for our room and board in the Day. She'll probably cover your reading material, too.
no subject
... that would be most generous. I'd pay, but I do not legally exist in this world at all.
no subject
Of course you don't, we were brought here against our will and kept as guinea pigs. It's a blessing the locals don't just kill us all on sight.

[He glances over at the window for a moment...]
I remember miss Wagner being especially keen to remove me from existence... Just because I was so close to becoming just like those blue eyed creatures that ate people's souls.

[ ... and that's where being civil ends, sorry Shin. ]

You're one to talk! It's a wonder you managed to make it this far without your narrow morals screwing you over.
no subject
Is it really? Seems to me like I got through this fairly smoothly and with more leverage on the demon than most of you.
