WEEK 6

WEEK 6

Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.

Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?

And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.

It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.

[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]

[Well, at least he switched tracks quickly, because Ulquiorra has no idea how the fuck a McFlurry machine works anyway and is not particularly inclined to find out. Luckily, Dazai doesn't get hung up on. That would just be a terrible drive-thru experience.]

... I'll wager the Twilight has been far busier than the Night. Our dimension is projected to collapse sometime within the week. We have little time to waste.

[There's a minor emphasis on the we, because he's just like this.]

That being said, we have not wasted it. Our vessels should be stable enough now to leave the Twilight behind.

[ Just going to ignore that jab because look they have been doing their best. ]

How are you planning on leaving Twilight and where are you going?

[It's probably best to ignore at least half of what he says anyway, being snide is kind of like his way of saying hello, it's just gotten exponentially worse now that he's back in his natural habitat in some way and has a nice firewall between himself and the living.]

The Day. I believe I spoke of it last time.

[I mean. The marquee yelled a whole lot of things, and exposition-dumped others, but apparently Ulquiorra is just over here expecting him to put marquee-hell together.]

That woman has sealed herself into the Night, so the odds that she will affect the Day are still low at the moment. But it is likely in the best interests of the Night and the Twilight to find out her plans. Some of us have prepared detailed tasks for the Night to deal with, but ultimately the Night will be the first to reap the consequences of her folly.

[The way he says it, it's completely unclear whether he had any hand in bothering to deal with the living at all (besides the talking, that is), but the other message is probably clearer: She's your problem now.]

[ He hears it, and finds himself laughing for a moment. This is very Ulquiorra.

He will have to think back to all those words scrolling past. ]

Day. Twilight. Night. You guys weren't strong enough before to move over to the Day, but you are now.

I'm not surprised we'll be the first hit. She said she's ending it all, and if we're good she'll send us home. Don't really buy it and I don't really feel like being good anyways.

[ Gotta give her back twice the shit she's dealt ]

[There's a brief, considering silence.]

Our vessels were too fractured to travel between Dimensions. It may have something to do with the way manifestations weaken from Night into Day, but as we cannot travel like them, it's unclear what the connection is.

The prevailing theory was that she would need two components for her plan: the soul, or the consciousness, and the power, or the manifestations. They are soulless as well as mindless. But in light of what we've discovered, I begin to question whether there are additional components to this plan, or other things in Krakow that have been overlooked.

[He doesn't even bother to address the Lady's promise to send them home or for their good behavior or whatever, apparently not deeming it worthy of response. But y'know, that's probably a common sentiment.]

[ Wow answer all of his words, dead senpai.

He listens carefully before nodding. ]

I wouldn't discount the possibility things have been overlooked. We still need to check out the hotel, just need to get around the traps. We'll hit what we can and report back to you guys as soon as we have results.

How much longer do you think until you guys head to Day?

[personal profile] p_q 2020-02-10 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just be glad dead-senpai is noticing you at all, though it does seem as though he's gotten slightly more talkative since shuffling off the mortal coil (again...?). At any rate, there's a brief scoff at the mention of the hotel.]

Spare us your bumbling. We've already found a route into the hotel, which should be communicated if that fool at the front has any ability to relay information.

[It seems he's just here to dunk on Shin. The graveyard sure is a friendly bunch.]

The key to her plans may lie in the lamps: they are filled with what seems to be spiritual energy. All of them. If what that woman needed was spiritual power, then she already had enough of it simply lighting up the city; her aim for her "Survivors" must be something else. [there's something exasperated in his voice, like, which part of all of this was even necessary] I'm unsure of the rate at which this dimension is destabilizing, but it should be a matter of days.

[This is probably why you guys got an entire-ass quest list today. Time to grind, survivor pool.]

[ Did he miss Dazai that much? And he'll let him make jabs at Shin. Confushin on timeline here so we'll hand wave for now. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.]

True true. I do wonder what'll happen if we tap into the electrical source ourselves or just unscrew all the lights.

[ What if they waste electricity? ]

I'll spare you the pondering if you prefer. We'll see what we can find out here. We might not be able to figure her plans for us until she's ready. She put on a show earlier before vanishing to whatever hole she crawled out of.

How you go about dealing with the lights is your business.

[He makes it kind of clear that Dazai's off-the-cuff answer of unscrewing all the lights is kind of. Probably not it? Who knows, though. Run wild and free; Ulquiorra is more-or-less washing his hands of it.]

Though I would take precautions with allowing those who have been modified by the hints and the manifestations to contact them directly.

[So, y'know......... Seteth and the lamp post are friends now but.]

She's careless, or merely arrogant. The traces of her experiments and evidence of her presence is strewn all across the Night and Twilight.

[ He doesn't want to be enlightened on this? Dazai might tell him ALL ABOUT IT later. If he gets the walkie talkie back. ]

I'll be sure to pass it on to those related.

[ Look, sometimes lizards like lights. Gotta stay warm. ]

I'm sure it's both. In her arrogance, she has become careless.

[ And now to be a gremlin... ]

If I want to talk to you again, should I ask over the walkie-talkie?
p_q: (010)

[personal profile] p_q 2020-02-11 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
[He is never getting that walkie-talkie back so I guess they're just never conversing again, can't believe this is our last thread ever.]

And if she is careless enough, there is little reason to wait until she is ready.

[So like, despite everything he's still judging the waiting game?? But to be fair driveby judging is probably all he's going to bother doing. Also, why is he surrounded in gremlins, who allowed this in this game.]

The walkie-talkies are the easiest means of communication. You may reach any in the Twilight, I suppose.

[But why would you want to talk to him again.]

[ Because he doesn't want to talk but also still talks to him. ]

I'll see if I can get it back from Iago. If not, I'm sure I can use the one I handed Rean.

[ Might not be last thread. ]

What is it like over there in Twilight?

[Just because he has a good customer service face (he does not) doesn't mean you can take up all the drive-thru time!! PLS!!]

Our resources are much less limited this time, but we should still use them efficiently.

[Which means he's probably also disapproving of their auto shop ghost storyteller, but y'know what. This is just graveyard life. Also were you asking for a perfectly clinical report because:]

Krakow in Twilight is much the same. It is a separate dimension spatially and temporally, possibly located at an earlier time in that woman's stay here.
