Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.

But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.

It's amazing you can make fonic technology without casting an art, though.

It is indeed, and I am credited for making vast advances in the field.

[He does agrees with Rean about the interesting differences of world mechanics, but if given the opportunity to boast, he's...going to take it. Lord.

He is also blowing out a lot of hot air about his accomplishments, but he's also not not wrong about making some pretty amazing advances...]

I think I could see it. Though can you tell me what kind of advances, out of curiosity?

[ Rean figured the guy couldn't have been exaggerating too much, since it did sound like this type of thing could get complicated. That and he seemed legit about his knowledge in this area... ]

[Mmmm... Rean will need to advance this social link a bit more to get all the deets, but Dist won't leave him completely hanging.]

Robotics, primarily. They are fantastic weapons for combat. I have also worked a bit on flight, though it is not my primary field.

[The credit mostly goes to another group of engineers.]

[ Rean will do his best to level his social link with this fashionable engineer! ]

You did mention something about robotics before, so that does sound right to me. Can I ask what you think your greatest creation is? I mean, robot-wise, since you make those.

[ He was curious about them in particular since he saw the Kaiser Dist ... which was more toy robot than anything judging by what Dist had told of him before concerning it. ]

I am very proud of my Kaiser Dist line. I was working on the latest, greatest model before I ended up here, and I daresay it is nearing perfection.

But there is one creation that I am particularly fond of. It was a doll that I repaired for a former colleague of mine- another member of the Oracle Knights. I modified it with technology to increase its size to be used in combat.

...Haha that does sound amazing. It also sounds like something Millium might like, or at least approve of.

[ Though he knew she wouldn't part from Airgetlam even on the offchance she'd have the opportunity to use something else. ]

Another colleague of yours?

[Man, he kind of wishes he had friendly acquaintances to talk about, but alas... The other God-Generals and other people he works with are eh.]

[ Time to get more friends, Dist... ]

Yeah. She's part of the Intelligence Division back in Erebonia and she's rather talented too.

...Though you'd never guess it by how she looks and how she acts. It doesn't help she's really like a kid most of the time, if you know what I mean.

[ He'll look sheepish at that. ]

[ortion]

[Perhaps unexpectedly, Dist chuckles at that.]

Oh, you would be surprised by what I can believe. The owner of the doll that I modified is very much the same way.

Does this Millium of yours utilize dolls?

[ That was a little unexpected, yes, but not a bad thing at all. ]

Haha, then I guess you would have an idea.

[ Rean might be assuming Dist's ex-colleague was also a friend of Dist's too, because it sounded that way to him. ]

...In a way, if you think of combat shells as dolls.

[ortion]

[Somewhere in Auldrant, Anise Tatlin cringes and has no idea why.]

I would first need to know what combat shells are to make a proper comparison.

[C'mon, Rean.]

[ Poor Anise...she didn't even appear here but already her reputation has possibly taken a blow (?!) ]

Oh, right, sorry.

[ That sheepish look returned... ]

They're kind of like machines people normally use to practice against—for combat. Though, I don't think I've quite understood how they've worked enough to operate or build them myself. But people can program them to fight, defend, use arts, and such...so they're a really good mobile and sturdy practice dummy.

The one that Millium has, which she calls Airgetlam, seems to be more specialized to her than anyone else, though.

Oh, I like the sound of those! They actually sound quite familiar to my Kaiser Dist line. Though of course, my Kaiser Dists see actual battle, but I am able to program them to perform various functions all the same.

[He would very much like to see one of these combat shells for himself...]

I see. Does she use Airgetlam in combat herself?

[reanbeans]

They do sound like they have some similarities.

[ Like a lot more than he had previously assumed, even. ]

She does, but she can also ride on him too if she wants, and communicate with him. She's the only one who can understand Airgetlam's speech, though.

[ortion]

[Huh! He has dabbled a bit in this area with his robots, to...varying degrees of success.]

Are they typically designed to speak, or is hers unique?

[reanbeans]

They're designed to make noises, but hers seems more unique because it did seem like there's a difference between the sounds a regular combat shell makes and the ones Airgetlam or Claiomh Solais does.

...The latter is another unique combat shell by the way, but not used by Millium.

[ortion]

It certainly seems like they were designed differently. I would very much like to see them for myself.

[His robot nerdiness is showing big time.]

[ His smile faltered for a moment, remembering the situation back home, but...he let it return in full force, imagining how things would be if it all went okay. ]
