WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

If anyone wanted to come join him, he'll pass a friendly smile as he was getting his bearings, trying to decide on where to sit. ]
Did you want to join me for a little while?
[ Later on, he's approached the bar stools to speak to Dazai and shook his head. ]
...I don't know if I'm ever ready, so I think I'll go with 'maybe', for now.
no subject
No one ever is. That's part of what makes life interesting.
[ Grabbing a bowl of Chazuke to place on the counter next to him. ]
Eat up. Let me know what you think.
no subject
[ One of the foods he hadn't tried was the Chazuke, so he'll reach out to take it, thanks. ]
I'll let you know in a moment.
[ So.....how does it taste? ]
no subject
It may be missing that seaweed crunch on top, but it definitely has all the other elements of a chazuke. There's even a little bit of fish on top. ]
no subject
...It's good.
[ He's actually surprised? No offense Dazai but you literally told him Stories about your cooking and they weren't good ones! ]
You made this?
no subject
[ Really good, and hard tofu. But it's still good. ]
I did. You helped with a little with the broth.
[ He added some of their broth to it. ]
no subject
[ Seriously, this was actually ten times more decent than he expected. ]
Oh, that's right. But still, if you polished your skills, I'm sure you could do as well with other dishes too.
no subject
[ He'll spin around in the stool once. ]
I like making my hot pots. It's a surprise to anyone who eats them.
[ It's funny when he cooks terribad. ]
I wouldn't be against anyone teaching me more dishes though.
no subject
[ Like, really. ]
...Then it's a deal. We can probably start with some simple desserts sometime.
no subject
[ Is that simple? ]
no subject
...Maybe let's start with cookies?
no subject
Can I lick the spoon?
[ He might have to sample during the process. ]

[He's not quite moving to join Rean wherever he decides to settle down; he seems a little abrupt, perhaps. Not aggressive, just like he's not sure what he's doing here but dammit he's here anyway.]
I have something for you, assuming you want it.
no subject
[ Rean looked over at Cumore, as it looked like he was nearby a bar stool around this time. He looked kind of more curious than anything. ]
Oh. What is it?
no subject
I believe this belonged to your friend. I have no need for it.
[He picked it up anyway. Here, take it.]
no subject
Honestly, Cumore holding onto it for so long was a surprise in of itself. He reached out to carefully and gingerly take it. And there's a bittersweet smile on his face, also tinged with a good amount of gratefulness. Because it's something else to remember Oliver by.
And coming from Cumore, Rean felt like it meant a lot. ]
...Thank you for holding onto it, Cumore. I really do appreciate it.
no subject
[There are a few reasons he could cite for doing this. Rean has always been decent to him; he went out of his way to talk to him after the second trial when he was kind of a shitshow. He's been helpful, in his own way.
That involves actually saying any of those things.]
It seemed like something you might want, that's all.
no subject
You weren't wrong about that all.
[ ... ]
Did you also want to chat with me a little while? Since we're both attending this party anyway.
no subject
Of course. I wouldn't mind.
[He'll...just join Rean properly then; he doesn't seem interested in eating or drinking anything, but that's just sort of how he is at these things.]
no subject
I had been a little curious...on your profile it mentioned you had a sister?
no subject
[She is also apparently a good topic of discussion?]
no subject
[ He figured that there was no harm in asking this question either. ]

wildcards wildly in because I can
So here's Wonderwall, staring holes through the pages like he's here to just memorize everything, flatly and without reserve -- he probably is -- and in the meantime anyone coming up including present company is barely getting the time of day.]
This seems even more pointless than the rest of the gatherings. Save for the one where Rembrandt Meijer attended.
[He didn't even bother to walk into that meeting in the first place.]
no subject
He felt his mood instantly sour, and it took an herculean effort for his expression not to be as immediately dour to match. ]
This gathering is hardly pointless. I think most people here really needed something like this after learning what we did last trial.
no subject
Given that he's normally surrounded by colleagues wearing some degree of displeased to maniacal to downright murderous, a little frown is kind of like a spring breeze. That is to say, Ulquiorra looks right past it when he deigns to give Rean and his bad mood a glance.]
That the woman is experimenting on us, using our beings for her own ends, and has changed and will mutilate fundamental aspects of what we are?
[It's ask-stated so flatly you could probably balance the Leaning Tower of
PizzaPisa on it.]It's hardly new knowledge. Certainly nothing to make such a fuss about.
