WEEK 3
WEEK 3
Another week, another set of bodies to add to the pile. Two lured in by The Lady's machinations, and another two done in by misfortune; six of your number are dead already. Who knows who it will be the next time? And for what reason? Nevertheless, there’s no choice but to keep pushing on in your own way; whether that means barricading yourself inside your room for the rest of your stay, leaving artwork of your fellow Survivors around the housing area, or eating all the raw meat in the vicinity… well, everyone deals with things differently.
Either way, you understand the drill by now, yes? Another portion of the city reveals itself as the fog retreats yet again, lampposts lighting the way to the new areas as usual. The full moon wanes to half this week too, so make the most of it.
[[Welcome to Week 3! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 3 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Dist is quiet for a moment, then starts putting together a second drink.]
Why is that? Because we are still here...?
[It has been weeks...]
no subject
[...Mm. Just...give him a moment to try to shake it off, he's fine.]
It's likely just impatience with the situation. I don't know.
no subject
It is nonalcoholic.
[But definitely tasty! At least, in Dist's opinion. It's very sweet.
Whether Cumore accepts or not, Dist settles back to a seat near the piano.]
I can certainly understand. The trials have not helped matters- they are exhausting, and make focusing on our escape more difficult. We can only hope to have a breakthrough soon...
no subject
[It's not sharp, exactly, but it's abrupt; he'll take the drink, though, he doesn't do booze but he does like sweet things, so...]
The idea of dying here doesn't exactly appeal to me.
no subject
I would certainly hope so. The moment you start resigning to it is the moment I know things have truly gone to the dogs.
[He stirs his drink before taking another sip.]
I plan to look into the sudden appearance of power to the museum and restaurant. There must be something there...
no subject
[Mnnnngh. Anyway.]
I do hope you find something, either way. Whether it's answers or just a way to get the rest of the city functioning properly.
no subject
I don't intend to stop. Giving up is simply not something I am capable of. If I must work the Lady to get us answers...I suppose I will.
[Like, not literally work with her, but at least try to curry more favor with her. He doesn't like the idea, but he knows she likes him. He has an opportunity that many don't in that regard.]

no subject
[Dist...you don't want to know the answer to that...]
no subject
I know you to be a bit on the emotional side, and reason doesn't exactly always prevail. But that takes far longer to say, and is more difficult to put into a sentence with any elegance.
[cumore.]
It's something we have in common, I suppose.
1/2
no subject
[At least Cumore admitted he's not the most rational at times either...]
It is something that I would like to pull back on, should more stressful situations befall us...and most certainly around the Lady.
no subject
[It's not the best trait to have in a place like this, really.
He just. Sighs a bit. Messes with the drink a little.]
It will be fine, I'm sure. Again, there's not much choice otherwise.
no subject
Okay. Something is definitely off here, and Dist can't ignore it any longer.]
What is the matter? This isn't the same confident Cumore who got me back on my feet after our first trial.
no subject
[It sucks? He doesn't really know how to identify it but it sucks.]
I'm aware that it will matter very little to anyone if I die here. And that's acceptable - there are very few that matter to me in any sort of way, either. It's just irritating to me that I'm likely going to die here for someone else's benefit.
no subject
You're not going to die if I have a say in any of this.
[He says it like he actually does. He doesn't, but like...he's hellbent on not dying, and it irks him to see Cumore struggling.]
no subject
I... All right?
[what the actual fuck does he do with that. um.]
no subject
Realizing what he's just done, Dist covers his face with his free hand.]
My apologies. I...suppose I proved your point perfectly, didn't I.
[Uggghhh.]
I take issue with the idea of you dying.
no subject
...No. No, it's fine. I'm not...
[...mnnnngh.]
I'm not...terribly accustomed to sentiments like that, that's all.
no subject
[These two are absolute champions at this, clearly.]
But they are sincere. I...do care about you.
no subject
I really will be fine, you know. The past few days have been difficult, but it's nothing I can't handle.
I appreciate it, however. Don't believe I don't.
no subject
Good. It was not my intention to challenge you on it, but I do feel more confident about your resolve now.
