WEEK 3

WEEK 3

Another week, another set of bodies to add to the pile. Two lured in by The Lady's machinations, and another two done in by misfortune; six of your number are dead already. Who knows who it will be the next time? And for what reason? Nevertheless, there’s no choice but to keep pushing on in your own way; whether that means barricading yourself inside your room for the rest of your stay, leaving artwork of your fellow Survivors around the housing area, or eating all the raw meat in the vicinity… well, everyone deals with things differently.

Either way, you understand the drill by now, yes? Another portion of the city reveals itself as the fog retreats yet again, lampposts lighting the way to the new areas as usual. The full moon wanes to half this week too, so make the most of it.

[[Welcome to Week 3! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 3 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

[ Roughly rubbing the back of his head. People are so keen on being frivolous with food here. He guesses all the new restaurants have helped with food stores, at least he assumes they have, but.

He can't help but feel anxious seeing it when the clergy house only has enough for every living person to have three meals a day.
]

... I'll think about it. I'd rather eat it than let it go to waste, at least. And it's not like we can save it once it's already cooked.

Actually, there is a refrigerator now, so we can at least keep food around once we've cooked it, and there hardly would be a worry about food going to waste so much.

[ So there was that, at least. It helped make their lives a little less harder and easier to save food/leftovers after they'd been cooked. ]

That all depends on the food, doesn't it? I for one can't say reheated eggs taste half as good as fresh ones.

[ Like, he's not gonna complain if he Has to eat. In the old days he almost ate a seagull once but, like. This is not the old days. ]

[ That sounded rough, buddy.

Though it did make him look back at the spread again. ]

Well, I'm making sure not to overdo it at least. I think making this much every day would be unreasonable.
bawcock: (♪ and so i have to say before i go)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-24 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
With the reserves we have now? Yeah, you're probably right about that.

Then again, I bet Seteth could eat this whole pile all by himself. [ Not dogging the guy or even blaming him. Just, not really happy either. ]

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-24 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
...That is a possibility, though I hadn't thought of that until you mentioned it.

[ Because Rean was pretty sure it'll be unhealthy to eat that much, bigger appetite or not. ]

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-24 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, Seteth is a grown man. It's best to let him worry about how much or how little he eats, not do it ourselves.

Within reason. [ Like, can't have everyone starve because of the soul devourers but it's ok to let them manage themselves unless it's a problem. That's his very biased opinion. ]

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah, I know he can very well take care of himself.

[ Rean was just the biggest worrywart this side of Poland. Though he was sure the man could handle eating well enough himself so that wasn't too much of a worry. ]

I'm sure if there was also an issue in that somehow, we'd find out without even having to ask.
bawcock: (♪ and so i have to say before i go)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-25 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Most likely.

[ Not like it'll be subtle, tbh. Anyway, anyway. ]

Hey. I'm not keeping you from your breakfast, am I? If you need to eat...

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-25 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, well. That's fine.

[ He'll look sheepish.

Rean couldn't believe he almost forgot to eat. That was kind of embarrassing...but he'll grab a plate for himself. ]

I don't mind getting wrapped up a little in conversation, since I figured I'd remember to grab something by the end of it, but thanks for the reminder.
bawcock: (♪ never meant to do those things to you)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-25 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
No problem. I figured you'd remember eventually, but I also figured it'd be cold by the time you finally got around to eating. This way, you can still enjoy it while it's warm.

[ A beat. Then, he awkwardly picks up a plate. ]

... mostly warm. [ Lukewarm at most. ]

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-25 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
...Haha, well, somewhat warm was better than it being cold.

[ Erik tried and that's what really mattered, so he could still say he appreciated the thoughtfulness.

Rean will be about to dig in, but... ]

Let me know how it tastes, alright?
bawcock: (♪ i wish i didn't do)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-25 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, as long as you don't expect much from my review.

I've tried it all—hot or cold, burnt or frozen, even seasoned with dirt—but all I've gotten out of it is a terrible palate. [ It isn't, like, Zangetsu bad? Probably. But as long as it's mostly edible, he'll deal. These days, he might deal even if it isn't tbqh. ]

...I actually would've never guessed. But—wait, are you being serious about the 'seasoned with dirt' part?

[ Or was that tongue-in-cheek.

Either way, Rean supposed there was no way to tell of someone's palate just by talking to them... ]
bawcock: (♪ i'm not a perfect person)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-26 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
And here I thought my hood, dagger, and profile gave me away. Guess I need to try harder to act the part of a proper scoundrel.

[ 'cause only low-tier crooks and beggars eat that badly. Anyway, anyway, not gonna answer the question. ]
reanbeans: (89)

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-26 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I think you act fine just as you are.

[ Rean looked a little concerned, because Erik didn't even attempt to play it off in regards to his question, so it's giving him some thoughts. ]
bawcock: (♪ a reason to start over new)

[personal profile] bawcock 2020-01-26 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ Uh, wow? He wasn't expecting a random compliment here, he's kind of embarrassed?? Turning to his side and rubbing his head with his left hand. ] I've always thought so. But... sheesh, you don't hold back, do you?

I bet that habit of saying whatever pops into your head's gotten you into trouble on more than one occasion.
reanbeans: (137)

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-01-26 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
[ At that sort of reaction, Rean couldn't help but smile. ]

Haha, I just see no reason to keep myself from saying what's true. At least, not this time.

[ He'll at least look sheepish himself at those other words...but something about this felt welcomingly familiar. ]

...Maybe a little.
