The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

I was thinking about looking into the subway sometime, and figured I might need these.

And he figured walking around in the dark without some light was just asking for trouble. Along with some other items. ]

If you were going to go there, I could give you a couple of my glowsticks. They seem more reliable than candles.

[They won't blow out, at least. Even if the glow does wear out eventually, it isn't at risk of just going out without warning.]

Haha, then I'd be glad to take it off your hands. Do you happen to have them with you right now?

[He fishes a couple out of his pocket and hands them over, though he does keep one for himself still. Gotta have emergency lights on hand.]

Do you know how to use one? These ones haven't been activated yet.

...Activated? Is there supposed to be a switch on here that activates them?

Sort of, but the switch can only be flipped once.

[He holds one up for Rean to look at more closely.]

There are two chemicals inside this tube, separated by a small thin wall of plastic inside. If you bend the tube far enough to snap the inner plastic wall and then shake it, the two chemicals mix and cause a reaction.

She really does, and I wish I could figure out why.

...Maybe because she thinks you won't be manipulated easily?

That would be nice, but I will hold off on inflating my ego over it.

It'd be nice if other people could learn how to hold their own in check.

I have to be honest here: I feel like half of the people here are not only villains of some sort, but also the type to monologue about how they have trapped the hero and will end the world in fifteen minutes while also giving out their plan.

[ Yeah that sure was a sweatdrop right 'bout now. ]

...I'm sure that's probably because the captors thought bringing in people who seemed like that would make their efforts easier.

[ Rean had more or less gotten used to some of those personalities here, and so the facts weren't wise to ignore. ]
