The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

...It certainly does it naturally, if you're anything to judge by, but it doesn't have to be like that.

I can certainly see yours looks much less untamed than mine. What do you do to get it like that?

I make products to wash it with so that what we've been given doesn't destroy it. Are you not familiar with that, then...?

I was not...made aware of those, the last time I was in a mortal form. And normally my true form doesn't require such maintenance. [The only reason he didn't accidentally starve is because he loves eating food anyways.]

That sounds... [...] Inconvenient.

So what are you normally? I've seen your profile, so I know what's there, but that doesn't tell me much.

I dwell within what you might call the star Sirius, and I govern all the other luminaries within its sphere, to make sure none are slacking in their duty. I suppose my usual form looks similar to this, but glowing with fire that would burn anything near. [A pause]

I am relieved that is not happening here, of course.

I'd imagine so. Not much contact with humans, then, I'd imagine.

Indeed not. Even last time I was banished into mortal form, there were only a few humans who I was personally acquainted with.

[drydrown]

I assume this Kathleen person was one of them...?

[wishuponazoi]

Indeed. [His expression grows fond at the mention of her name.] She was the best of all of them.

[drydrown]

Well, I can certainly understand that.

I assume she's the one our captors were insisting on threatening last week.

[wishuponazoi]

Indeed. Though...I regret my reaction somewhat. It was still a photo of her, after all, even with that horrible man in the background.

[He's done his best to smooth it out and place it somewhere safe.]

I ended up keeping mine, though I did fold it back so he isn't visible. It was an acceptable image otherwise. We don't have the technology to make such things where I'm from, either, so it's decent to have it, I suppose.

[He nods.] I haven't really had the opportunity to own such material things before, but I'm glad to have this at least.

[drydrown]

Shame about the circumstances, I suppose.

[Anyway.]

I assume you want assistance with your hair, otherwise you wouldn't be here...?

Indeed. That was my original intention before I got distracted with this other talk.
