WEEK 2

The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

I don't know if it will have any other use, but I decided I'd hold onto it just in case.

I can show you to the lab, though I'm afraid much of what is in there is a bit beyond me at the moment.

and when they get there, well...there's quite a lot of stuff, huh. thankfully raven looks like she recognizes a lot of this equipment. she turns to iago, hand on her hip. ]

A good amount of this isn't familiar to me. Some of it is fairly straightforward, [he gestures toward the fossils and the cabinets with the chemicals] but there are things here that I'm entirely unfamiliar with.

Like... that. Whatever that is.

[He points out the projector. That's apparently the thing that is weirding him out the most in this room.]

That's known as a projector. Hook it up to a computer and it can enlarge and project whatever images are on that small little screen onto another surface.

[ ...wait. ]

Do you know what a computer is?

No. I have no idea what that is.

It is, yes. I have quite a bit of catching up to do.

Computers sound absolutely fascinating... Is your world fairly close to this one in terms of technology?

Closer than yours, you could say; but Remnant's more advanced.

Perhaps I'll ask you more about it later.

So what do you make of this place? Is it about what you'd expect from a lab here?

I suppose it is. Nothing too fancy -- by my standards, of course -- but nothing extremely outdated either. ... Though I suppose the projector could use a few enhancements.

Hmm... So it seems there isn't anything to give us an idea of how long this place has been abandoned.

[Not that it's really surprising by this point, but it is a bit disappointing.]

Maybe not. Judging by the state of everything else though, I don't think it's been abandoned for long.

Well, perhaps someone will be able to shed some more light on exactly what's happened here. I do hope someone was able to get it out of the Lady.
