The first week is over, and two of your number are gone. Everything related to the case has been cleaned up, with nary a knife left at the Main Square nor a trace of the mud shapes that once painted the clock tower walls, although some stray graffiti still dots some storefronts.

However you may feel about the entire debacle on Friday, there’s no doubt that something has changed about the atmosphere, although whether it’s something tangible or just a trick of the mind is hard to say. Maybe it’s nothing. Either way, there are more palpable changes to the city, with some of the fog retreating away from a few of the surrounding areas, uncovering new buildings and streets along the way. The night, however, remains unchanged as always save for the slow waxing of the moon, leaving it bright and full as early as Thursday night. Regardless of if you take it as an omen or not, at least that means the streets will be lit up fairly well for the week, provided some inconvenient cloud cover doesn’t slide right in.

That's a fair point. It's possible that there's another explanation for it, but I sincerely doubt either of them will be willing to share.

It does seem unlikely...

...Everything looks so odd to me. We have a few similar animals to these sorts of things, but not many.

[Like, so many of the normal weird taxidermy things look so plain?]

Really? I imagine the monsters look quite a bit different, but there are differences with these as well?

Well, we simply don't...have many of these, and if we do some of them have interbred with the monsters. Some units use war dogs in combat, for example, and they've very obviously bred with wolves. But our wolves also look nothing like anything here.

[God help us if there is anything depicting horses in this museum, he'll be so confused.]

Ah, I see. That makes sense; I hadn't considered that the monsters would be close enough to the animals for interbreeding to happen. I imagine that would change quite a few of these...

[We have some very anime dogs.]

It does, yes. So while I admit there are several things here that are strange to me, it...might just be that there was less interbreeding here, or those specific crossbreeds can't exist for some reason or another. Or their monsters are just different - it's not as though we have wyverns.

It seems this world doesn't either; I can't imagine why one wouldn't be on display otherwise.

...It really is morbid that they do this sort of thing here. Just...keeping them around on display like that.

Oh, it's dreadfully morbid. Anyone can come see these at any time! What a wonderful idea, I'll have to see if I can set something similar up when I get home.

More or less. I've never seen anything like this place before.

I'm sure the fish are perfectly fine, I merely don't like being in that area very much.

I imagine it would be less inherently creepy with some more light.

Possibly.

Even so, it's not anywhere I'm in a particular hurry to spend time in.

Understandably so.

Well, perhaps some other area has opened up that you'll find more interesting.

"More interesting" is overstating it. It's largely things I don't understand.

A building full of equipment that I've never seen before, and I...believe I found this world's equivalent of the tavern? They call it McDonald's.

...What kind of name is that for a tavern?

A bad one.
