WELCOME
EPILOGUE
As the world they've been living in so long quickly dissolves around them, the oppressive air from the Gate fades away from their senses and their vision turns turns completely white. It only takes an instant for their sight to return, but when it does, they'll find themselves in the same dim, dank chamber that they were in a moment before albeit with several main differences: the Gate and the machines that were clustered near it are now gone.
However, you'll only be able to take in this sight for a few seconds before the scenery blurs and suddenly there's the scent of the cool December air brushing past your face, blinding sunlight assaulting the eyes.
It's been six weeks since you've seen anything but the night, so it may take a bit of adjustment before realizing that there's a number of very, very familiar faces before you, as well as one who might not be so recognizable. Either way, one thing is for sure: that long, long Night is over, and it's the start of another Day.
Witamy w Krakowie.
[[Everyone will find themselves in the Main Square. Furthermore, those who had body horror will find that all traces of it are gone!]]

[IT'S BEEN A WILD TIME IN PCs..........]

The holy relic in Terca Lumireis would not accept you as Emperor even if they retrieve it.
[ He's not even trying to really discourage Iago, he's just honestly kinda puzzled? Where's your cartoon villain ambition? ]
no subject
[i'm not saying it involved just. borrowing king garon's blood, but it totally did.]
Even if I can't be Emperor, there are other positions of power. With no Emperor to get in my way and Cumore poised to be the next Commandant, taking over the Council should be simple enough.
[i am so sorry.]
no subject
You'll be handling the prosecution in that case. I will have a few words with you in regards to that.
[ Yeah, this is all going to be fine. ]
no subject
[He doesn't sound like he's joking...]
no subject
Good, that is what I wanted to hear. There seems to be a lot worthy of fixing in that place.
no subject
[But so are the rest of them.]
Do try not to let me down. I'll be counting on you to continue supporting Cumore.
[...teasing or genuine??? you be the judge!!!]
no subject
Likewise. And do let Dist know that I might approach him about inventions at some point.
[ There will be a lot of useful Earth stuff missing and Dist is his only hope. ... also yes, he is not even asking if Dist is coming with, that seems like a given. ]
no subject
He'll be delighted, I'm sure. He lights up whenever you ask him to explain anything, it's very cute.
[oh my god.
After a moment he pauses, considering.]
From now on, call him Saphir, as well. He said he'd prefer to use that name and since we are all going to Terca Lumireis together, you may as well get used to it.
no subject
Saphir then? I see. It's certainly his prerogative to change his name. I'll keep that in mind.
no subject
It's his original name, actually. I'll leave that story to him, if he decides he wants to share it.
[Not really his place, you know how it goes.]
But good, I'm glad to hear it.
no subject
We're going to be spending a lot of time together. It's prudent to get along.
[ .... and actually. ]
Did Cumore ever tell me the content of my envelope?
no subject
[That gets him to pause as he thinks back over their many, many conversations.]
It's possible he mentioned it, but not directly. I won't press you on it; if it's something you wish to share at some point, I'll listen, but it hardly matters to me.
[What secrets they had back in their own worlds certainly doesn't matter now. Or maybe he's so carefree about it because his own was totally pointless. Either way!!]
no subject
What is the most severe thing you think I could have done?
[ Might as well figure out what impression he gave off. ]
no subject
[And then he smirks.]
But I don't know very much about you, Teru Mikami. Perhaps I'm wrong.
no subject
[ That's.... that's not quite it, but it's genuinely kind of close? He's insulted because he doesn't kill with his hands, he never has!! But also... how insulted can he be when it's so true? ]
Guess a number.
[ He's not clearing this up yet. ]
no subject
He does consider that for a moment, however.]
I'm not entirely certain how your world works, so I can't give you anything that may be fairly accurate. I assume your methods are... Well, along the line of that bastard's.
[Ango's. It's not a topic he dwells on, but his expression darkens for a moment.]
Less than fifty. Still a large amount for a serial killer in your world, though again, I could be off in this guess.
no subject
But first. ]
I am nothing like him.
[ This comparison needs to immediately get removed from the equation. ]
The number is close to two thousands. Count complicit and we're approaching eight thousand.
[ Yeah. ]
1 / 2
[It isn't really something he needs to hear; he's already aware of that. Mikami is many things, but he isn't Ango. In some ways, even Lucrezia was doing better than Ango as far as Iago's concerned. She at least never pretended to be anything other than selfish and cruel from the very start.
But that train of thought is hardly important for long, because Mikami moves on and Iago's expression quickly shifts back into that absolute near-sadistic delight he usually only shows during trials.]
My, it seems I really have underestimated you. Eight thousand... Teru Mikami, you certainly are an interesting man. Why, you're even beating me.
[Which is certainly saying something, because he's complicit in everything Garon's been doing for the past decade-ish.]
no subject
But it isn't as though any of that matters now. [Even if he does want to know how the fuck Mikami pulled that off.] We're all starting over and the things we did back in our worlds no longer matter. There's no sense in looking backwards. What matters now is what we do from here.
[And if he were feeling particularly mean, he'd bet he'd end up with a higher body count, but for once in his damn life he'll try not to be too cruel to Mikami.]
no subject
But somehow, it is a little relieving to have all of this out in the open. ]
It certainly doesn't matter. The method by which it was done is unavailable to me now and my memory of it all is erased.
[ He just wanted to say it because he wanted to see the reaction. ]
That said, I object to being called a serial killer. It was divine judgement passed on through me.
no subject
Oh, of course. I'm fairly sure Garon thought the same thing, given he was always praying to his god.
[whoever the fuck anankos is, surely that's not important.]
But I won't call you a serial killer again. I'm willing to play nice.
[...you can practically hear the "for now" on the end of that.]
no subject
Good. Though there is nothing 'nice' about simply adhering to the facts.
[ ........ yeah. ]
no subject
[oh my god, apologies to teru mikami once more.]
I look forward to learning more about you, Teru Mikami. Our lives in Terca Lumireis are certainly going to be interesting.
[at least it doesn't sound like a threat???]
no subject
Unfortunately, yes.
[ He wants all of this but he's going to keep being mean about it, for his self-image. ]
Here's to acceptable cooperation.
