WELCOME
EPILOGUE
As the world they've been living in so long quickly dissolves around them, the oppressive air from the Gate fades away from their senses and their vision turns turns completely white. It only takes an instant for their sight to return, but when it does, they'll find themselves in the same dim, dank chamber that they were in a moment before albeit with several main differences: the Gate and the machines that were clustered near it are now gone.
However, you'll only be able to take in this sight for a few seconds before the scenery blurs and suddenly there's the scent of the cool December air brushing past your face, blinding sunlight assaulting the eyes.
It's been six weeks since you've seen anything but the night, so it may take a bit of adjustment before realizing that there's a number of very, very familiar faces before you, as well as one who might not be so recognizable. Either way, one thing is for sure: that long, long Night is over, and it's the start of another Day.
Witamy w Krakowie.
[[Everyone will find themselves in the Main Square. Furthermore, those who had body horror will find that all traces of it are gone!]]

But Lady ugly did anyway. I wonder if in the end she gave up? She couldn't shout for help but she didn't seem to mind Rean taking her out either.

No, I don't think she gave up. Her plans have been set back, but I don't believe she's truly been stopped.
[Surely she planned for this possible outcome as well. She really was a tactical genius; perhaps even more deserving of that title than he is.]
Her desires were in her own world, however. I don't anticipate her being a problem for any of us again.
[And maybe that's partially just because he wants it to be over and he wants to be somewhere safe where he can finally rest for a bit. Regardless, it's enough for now.]
At least our time here has finally come to an end. Do you plan to return to your world and your friends, Pizza?

You're going somewhere with Dist, right? Are you going to take a honeymoon first?
no subject
...No, okay, he does need to talk to Pizza about something, but for now we're veering off in a wildly different direction, as usual. Pizza controls the conversation.]
I— No, we're not—
[just!! let him pull back a bit and try to get his expression under control!!]
We are going to Terca Lumireis - Cumore's world - but don't go getting any ideas.
[Saphir can never know about this conversation.]

W-Well, yes... [no sense in trying to deny that, you all saw him shriek for hours about his dead bf and he's still wearing the floral-pattered suit jacket so like. obviously.] But that doesn't mean we're getting married.

...You know what. Fine. If we get married, I will personally find a way to send you an invitation across our worlds. Are you happy.
[he's so tired, pizza.]

Yes, well...
[He hesitates for a moment before sighing and moving to bow properly.]
I wanted to apologize to you for my behavior. [He straightens back up and glances away.] You were patient and kind with me and asked for nothing in return, and yet I find the way I treated you to be too cruel, even for me.
It's only thanks to you I've been able to open up to others, after all.
[Had Pizza not turned to him after the first case and decided to continue trusting, even when he knew it could hurt him, Iago doubts he ever would have been able to do the same.]

And besides that, I'm not weak either. I may not be that old for a Food Soul, but I'm pretty resilient. If I can make it better, if I can make it easier, if I can do anything at all for someone I don't mind bearing whatever I need to. Someone needs to carry the flag, after all.

Very well. Once more, then.]
I suppose I'm not surprised you could tell. Why do you think Saphir - Dist - and I got along so well? We were both desperate for someone who would try to understand and agree with us.
[So maybe things with Pizza weren't as one-sided as he thought they were. He laughs once that's out there and shakes his head, then returns that high five. He still sucks at it.]
I'm proud of you. You did far more for me than I ever realized. [Until it was too late.] I couldn't say goodbye without thank you for that much.
...And for what you said that night. I hadn't exactly... realized that there might be anything between us...
[...sometimes you just flirt for weeks and don't realize that actual feelings exist?? it's fine.]

Ahaha, no problem! Sometimes it's hard to see what's right in front of you, but that's what friends are for. But I'm really happy you found someone who you can talk to, always. Even if it's rainy, even if you're really sad or mad, even if you've just escaped a castle together— [ Okay that one is very specific and hey sometimes Pizza can be blind too. ]
But yeah! I'm really glad we could become good friends, and I'm really glad that you didn't forget about me. [ His voice goes low. ] Food Souls aren't humans, so when we die it really shouldn't be a big deal. So thank you for remembering me, even when it must have been really difficult.

Be sure to tell your friends how much you've missed them. [hmm!! maybe he'll go meddling in pizza's love life next. you never know. iago cannot be tamed.] I'm certain they've missed you.
[Who wouldn't, after all? Pizza's a ray of sunshine and even if he does nothing but steamroll over everyone, he's still a good person. Food Soul. That's never going to stop being weird.]
Of course I remembered you. I kept those crystals with me, you know. I really did intend to find a way to revive you if we couldn't find a way to save you here.
[It wouldn't have been the same. But if Pizza was alive in some form, that would have been something. He didn't have that guarantee with Saphir. Thankfully, those in the Twilight were able to save themselves, because the living sure as hell weren't getting anything done.]
I did miss you, you know. I didn't really understand why I was so upset for quite some time. It... took me a very long time to realize how much you've helped me.
[It's sort of embarrassing to admit, really... But he did tell himself he'd be honest with Pizza, because it really is what helped set him on a different path. He likely wouldn't have made it through at all if Pizza hadn't decided to aggressively befriend him.]
