EPILOGUE

As the world they've been living in so long quickly dissolves around them, the oppressive air from the Gate fades away from their senses and their vision turns turns completely white. It only takes an instant for their sight to return, but when it does, they'll find themselves in the same dim, dank chamber that they were in a moment before albeit with several main differences: the Gate and the machines that were clustered near it are now gone.

However, you'll only be able to take in this sight for a few seconds before the scenery blurs and suddenly there's the scent of the cool December air brushing past your face, blinding sunlight assaulting the eyes.

It's been six weeks since you've seen anything but the night, so it may take a bit of adjustment before realizing that there's a number of very, very familiar faces before you, as well as one who might not be so recognizable. Either way, one thing is for sure: that long, long Night is over, and it's the start of another Day.

[ He'll look embarrassed at the praise, but it's the hair ruffle that really does it. It reminded him of home and the few people who have done the same, and he considered it lucky he had a chance to cry it out for a bit.

Otherwise he believed it would be kind of awkward.

But on top of it all, he's happy to see the other alive for sure, along with certain others from the realm of the dead. ]

[ He's...honestly nervous about what the other may think about his other side, but he's not treating him differently, so he'll take it as something good. ]

[ He's used to children and grown men crying, so it would've been fine. He probably noticed the signs of it on Rean and keeps quiet about it.]

But you were the first to try to get up and do something. Very manly ~ [ He pokes a finger at him playfully. He was going to blow a gasket from everyone one just yapping away honestly. See a certain sigh of relief he let out. And wow he was angry when those shits stopped Rean and were being utterly stupid for who knows how long. ]

I'm relieved I sent your sword to you.

[ tbh, he liked seeing that side of you Rean. Men of action were quite nice to see do their thing. ]

[ ...In that case, it's probably noticeable that his eyes were red and a little puffy from crying anyway. He'll blink as he's poked.

That did sound like a rough time of things, though. Aidios knew he tried. ]

...You really think so?

[ Rean couldn't say it was his most finest moment. But, somehow hearing Kyousuke say that made him feel a little proud, as he smiled with a combination of sheepish and some shy. Though, he was starting to feel things so strongly again. Maybe it's because they were about to part and never see each other again, so it's possible he won't be able to hold back the waterworks once more. ]

I'm honestly thankful you did. I didn't get to use it as much as I anticipated, but I think having it made me able to fight more easily than if I hadn't.

[ There's nothing compared to the feel and use of your original blade, after all. ]

Yes, very cool~ [ He chuckles good naturedly, he really means it. Talking to that cow wasn't going to do anything. Something had to be done, and Rean kicked it off before everyone else. ]

And I'm glad it came to good use. [ God, he was dreading Rean just dying as soon as he got it. How shitty would that have been?

Though he's already ruffled his hair, he puts a hand out, and smiles. ]

[ Rean could barely stand talking to her anyway...so in the end it really was a matter of time. Beware the nice ones, apparently. ]

Mm, yeah...it really did.

[ He'll look at the hand and reach out tp grasp it firmly. ]

I can't believe this was all really over. But, it's good that we managed to make it a happy ending.

[ Granted there's still the shit waiting for him back home, but...one thing at a time. ]

Mmm. Happy enough, anyway. [ that Ango seemed to worry about the body and what that meant for that person's world but... well, it wasn't their problem and he wasn't going to mention it to Rean. ]

At least we can go home where we belong. To our own problems, and not forced on us by other worldly means.
