EPILOGUE

As the world they've been living in so long quickly dissolves around them, the oppressive air from the Gate fades away from their senses and their vision turns turns completely white. It only takes an instant for their sight to return, but when it does, they'll find themselves in the same dim, dank chamber that they were in a moment before albeit with several main differences: the Gate and the machines that were clustered near it are now gone.

However, you'll only be able to take in this sight for a few seconds before the scenery blurs and suddenly there's the scent of the cool December air brushing past your face, blinding sunlight assaulting the eyes.

It's been six weeks since you've seen anything but the night, so it may take a bit of adjustment before realizing that there's a number of very, very familiar faces before you, as well as one who might not be so recognizable. Either way, one thing is for sure: that long, long Night is over, and it's the start of another Day.

Witamy w Krakowie.

[[Everyone will find themselves in the Main Square. Furthermore, those who had body horror will find that all traces of it are gone!]]

[ Haha, yeah...he's sure it did. ]

Yeah...uh, thank you.

[ He wiped at his eyes a little. That was a bit embarrassing, but...Seteth didn't seem to be treating him differently after that, so he breathed a little easier. ]

I think so too. It got really difficult for a second, since we were not only fighting for our lives, but a way to get out of there, with the dead's...so I guess we all really felt desperate.
baitless: he looks a bit tired, but less intensely so. (how vaguely and unhelpfully can i put it)

[it’s still less scary than Rhea gets sometimes so you know!!]

Yes, exactly.

...honestly, I still find myself wondering if we did the right thing, even if we’re all alive and well right now. I suppose there’s no helping that end of things, though.

[ Rhea...yikes (tm) ]

I'd been wondering the same.

I don't think it's unnatural to, considering the circumstances, but...I'm glad that we all made it out all the same. I feel like there's only so much we could've done in our situation.
baitless: an expression that can serve as either deep frustration or, perhaps, some level of grief. who can say. (i am so tired all of the time.)

Yes, definitely. Things rarely work out perfectly even in the best of circumstances, so I suppose this is not too surprising.

Even so, it is easy to second guess yourself.

...I understand.

I've been doing the same ever since it all ended, wondering if there was anything we could do. But...I guess there's really nothing to be done for it.

[ ... ]

At least our new surroundings look nice too.
baitless: a very subtle smile. (ah yes st. cethleann.)

[...man, that fucking way the lady died was some shit, honestly, that's gonna keep him up at night...]

Well. We are alive and well, and we get to see how everything looks in the sunlight. That is, perhaps, good enough.
