WEEK 6
WEEK 6
Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.
Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?
And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.
It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.
[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]

[ It's a little creepy how requests from people in this group have really become a matter of 'of course' beyond the realm of platitudes. Mikami still isn't sure he likes anyone here, but some sense of belonging is scarily tangible. ]

[There's a hard edge to it, but it isn't anger or frustration. It's a bit hard to place exactly what it is, and frankly, Iago's not sure he understands either.]
I told Cumore you wouldn't do anything that rash and reckless, and I don't want to be proven wrong.

[ Remember when everyone was egging him on to sell his soul? He does. Vividly. ]
Either way, I have no intention of being reckless. I want to survive this as much as anybody now. Both of you can be reassured of this as fact.

Excellent, that's what I wanted to hear. I simply wanted to make sure you were aware that you'd irritate us both if you did something that reckless.
[It's mostly because it'll upset Cumore. Mostly.]
I look forward to seeing this through to the end with you, Teru Mikami.

[ He hadn't really placed much stock in it before, but Iago's contribution to the meeting had been invaluable. And maybe having just a tiny bit of that optimism he keeps berating Rean for will pay off. ]

I was simply tired of everyone underestimating me. My position is one I gained through hard work and years of study; I certainly didn't intend to be useless here.
[It's not actually a pointed jab at anyone else, though it could be taken that way.]
I intend to get through this with all of us. While I may still loathe several of the people in this group, my hatred is directed solely at the Lady.

[ The currently surviving are mostly pretty okay all things considered, but the bar is very low for that. People who died made sure of that. ]
But if it's between them and her, it will always be her who is going down.

[...except ango, but he's dead so it's fine!!!!!]
