WEEK 6

WEEK 6

Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.

Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?

And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.

It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.

[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]

[ Okay, the idea of leaving all this stuff out for people to sort through is nice and he's going to join Rean and Dazai in doing it in the candle shop because the clergy housing dining room is irrevocably cursed by that chair now.

Mikami leaves a flag, an outfit and a meticulously polished copper-colored pocketwatch with an image of gears etched into the cover for people's perusal.

And because the fog is so thick by now that not everyone would like to be out, he's tacking a note onto the inside of the clergy housing door:

We appear to be exchanging post office items in the Candle Shop. Go there and see if you are the rightful owner of something.

Mikami himself is definitely only found in the clergy housing for the rest of the day. You can either find him making food in the kitchen while pointedly trying to not look at that chair one room over... or simply in his room. The door is open for once, he's free to be bothered. ]

[ Why is he back in here again. ]

I'm here to prosecute your food.

[ Because it's sad. ]

[ Because the fog fucking sucks today, next question. ]

I'd like to see the paperwork for that.

I have something better.

[ Just plopping a badge down on top of one of the closed cans of food. ]

[ The immediate widening of Mikami's eyes must surely have been worth the set-up. Mikami has to take a moment to compose himself, even. ]

You... is that from the post office?

[ It is definitely worth it. ]

It is.

[ He's just... going to pick the badge up from the can and hold it almost reverently. ]

I didn't think I would see one again. Even before we were taken, this was something that was already out of reach for me.

You should hold on to it. It could be a reminder that you found something worth struggling for.

[ Not the badge or what it represents, but that he's choosing to keep moving with his life. ]

[ He's passing by again and—there's another outfit!! First of all, what is with this place and clothing?? Is the post office just one big clothing store and he never realized?

Secondly.
]

Are they taking clothes from mermaids now? I'm pretty sure I saw a shark guarding this exact coat.
inordertobelieve: (surprise: noticing)

[ Mer.... maids? Mikami blinks. Why are everyone's worlds so unbelievably weird? ]

These objects really seem to be from all over. Someone received something I hadn't owned in 18 years, even.

... a shark?

[ That pocketwatch is exactly what Rideaux has been hoping to find. He'd been disappointed -- to put it mildly -- when it hadn't come with his own shop purchase this morning, thinking he'd probably missed his last chance to get it back. Seeing Mikami dropping it off there now is the second greatest relief he's felt here, after the outcome of the fourth trial.

He moves swiftly to pick it up before anyone else can think about grabbing it. ]

You got this from the post office, right?
