WEEK 6

Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.

Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?

And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.

It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.

The guns we got from the post office comes with a laser pointer to help with aim.

[ Once the dummy is set up, he'll walk over to Iago, pulling out his own gun. Holding it side ways to show how to turn on the laser. ]

Oh, I see. That is convenient.

[Huh! He's going to watch for now, head tipped a bit to the side as he watches Dazai.]

Let me see you shoot. Explain it to me as you go.

[He's a quick study and this doesn't seem too complicated, but there's a reason why he didn't go trying this on his own.]

There's usually a safety on most guns. It's there so make sure it doesn't discharge while you're pulling it out of it's holster.

[ Just clicking safety off. Aiming for the dragons head. ]

You should keep a good grip on the gun itself, but also keep your arm relaxed.

[ Just going to let Iago see how he's holding it before he fires a single shot into the mascot's head. ]

Ah, I see.

[He watches Dazai as he shoots rather than the target; the ability to have have a better idea of where you're aiming certainly will make this easier, but he's more interested in how exactly it looks when it's firing. He's not expecting the recoil, from the look on his face.]

Interesting... Did it take you a long time to get used to it?

[ He can explain recoil if he wants. ]

Not long. I had to figure it out quickly because of my line of work.

Good to know. I would prefer it not be necessary, but...

[Well, there's no telling how things will go, and he doesn't exactly have much else he can do to defend himself.]

It looks as though firing it comes with recoil. Can you tell me more about that?

Considering a number of us don't plan on leaving her alive at the end of this, it very well might be.

[ Time to hand wave recoil talk and the inner workings of a gun because Dazai will be methodical and to the point about it. ]

He figured he probably had it with him, but he does scan the gun to make sure the safety was on. ]

[Iago hasn't been lying; he's a quick study and when he dedicates himself to something, he studies it thoroughly. He's already done his reading about guns prior to asking Dazai for help with this, so the demonstration was really the last piece he needed to more or less figure this out.

...Granted, this actually goes perfectly fine until the recoil - his shot's wide, but that's mostly inexperience and the recoil... Thankfully, it does not break his wrist. Iago is allowed one (1) nice thing in this game.]

Well, that's... a bit more than I was expecting.

[So it's not like. The worst. But he's definitely going to need more practice before he can reliably shoot something.]

[ you know there's a really bad joke to be made about building wrist strength and handling guns ]

Fire a couple of more times when you're ready. We are limited on bullets though.

[ Don't get carried away with pew pewing. ]

Start grip training tonight. It might help.

[ Maybe they should make him a wrist brace just in case... ]

[when has iago ever gotten carried away with anything???? never. it's not like he spent seven hours shrieking last trial.]

[ Not that Dazai can judge because the first time he used a gun, he nearly empty the clip into someone.
