WEEK 6

WEEK 6

Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.

Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?

And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.

It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.

[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]
drydrown: those shoes with that dress though (EHHH ♡ now wait just a minute)

[...what do you mean, you can't do anything with it.]

Hit...her...?

[WHAT...WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO WITH STAVES...]

[...............]

You are vastly overestimating my strength.

[STRENGTH STAT: 0]
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Try not to hit the metal bits?

[Like, he's not encouraging you to go for the face but he'd pay good money to see it.]

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Vastly overestimating my strength. I'm a mage, Cumore. I punched someone and he just looked surprised.

[YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH THIS HURTS HIS PRIDE TO ADMIT.........]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
...I would tell you to perhaps try something ranged but I think you would just break your arm.
psychophant: (✦ 39)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I have never attempted to use a bow and lessons with throwing knives went... poorly.

[Very poorly......... he can never be a Butler..........]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't try to teach you with this. If your strength is as bad as you claim, you'd need something with a lower draw weight than what I'm using.

[...You'd absolutely hurt yourself.]
psychophant: (✦ 32)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I would probably die, yes.

[It's a joke, don't worry.]

Speaking of heavy weapons that I would probably die if I attempted to wield, do you need a sword or a lance? I received both and I obviously can't use either of them.
drydrown: those shoes with that dress though (EHHH ♡ now wait just a minute)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
...I have both already, actually.

[...]

And a hatchet, of all things.
psychophant: (✦ 11)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[...]

And yet I can't even get a tome back?

[YES HE KNOWS IT WOULDN'T WORK IT'S STILL MAKING HIM MAD]

Well, at least most of you will have the ability to kill the Lady.

[gods why did he minmax this hard!!!]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not certain any of this will work, mind you. With our luck she's going to have some sort of immunity to anything we can come up with.
psychophant: (✦ 04)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm aware. We need to go in with a plan that doesn't hinge on being able to take a shot at her. She'll be prepared for that, I'm sure. Still, it doesn't hurt to keep your skills sharp in case an opportunity does present itself.
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
...It's been a while since I've done anything like this, and my tagrrgets are usually far larger. So it's been interesting so far.
psychophant: (✦ 80)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you mind if I watch for a little while?
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

that is literally the fourth time today I've fucked the word 'target' irreparably

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...If you want. It's not like I mind the company.
psychophant: (✦ 96)

if it helps any, i didn't notice at all

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent.

[He moves to take a seat further away so he can watch!! He won't interrupt or say anything; feel free to go for as long as you want.]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

I can't fucking spell today and my phone keeps autocorrecting my attempts to Teru Mikami

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's not used to having an audience; either he does this on his own or he's with a couple of other people who are also trying not to die to whatever he's fighting at the moment. That said, he's neither as accurate or as fast a shot as Schwann or Casey and he's also using ammunition that's makeshift as hell, but this entire thing doesn't need him to nail her in the heart or something to be effective. As long as he hits her in some way, it'll at least be enough to ruin her day.

So he'll unload into the setup he's got here; he doesn't have very many shots before he has to go collect what he's fired into this overdressed thing, but. Still, it's something.]

...Enjoying yourself?
psychophant: (✦ 88)

i'm so glad, it's perfect

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmm...]

Of course I am.

[Joking aside, though...]

Your shots have a lot of power behind them - if you hit her, it's likely to deal a good amount of damage. While your aim may not be perfect, just landing a single hit on her would injure her severely. It would undoubtedly slow her down, at the very least.

[He's mostly just thinking out loud, though he still looks very interested.]
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...These things are being put in poison before we deal with her.

[So yeah.]
psychophant: (✦ 05)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent. If you need any assistance with it, do let me know.

[He's not an expert or anything, but he has some experience with poisons.]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, of course. It's far from my normal expertise.
psychophant: (✦ 32)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
It isn't anything I'd say I'm an expert at, but I've utilized poisons quite a bit in the past.
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I know enough to identify what's likely to be toxic and what isn't. I don't really have much cause to utilize it.

[...]

Outside of the obvious reason, but he isn't going to consume anything I give him.
psychophant: (✦ 65)

[personal profile] psychophant 2020-02-11 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That's certainly fair. I had to do away with a few troublesome people that way in the past, but that hardly matters now.

[shame we can't just have rean make the lady some food and poison it, though.........]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-02-11 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's never really been my way of doing things, anyway.

[...He kind of figured that if he tried poisoning the coffee he'd probably nail one of us instead of her, but that isn't to say he didn't consider trying to find a way early on.]
