WEEK 6

WEEK 6

Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.

Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?

And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.

It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.

[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]

Hmm, he was older than me and had very long hair. His name was Utsumi. Though people in the military didn't approve of that sort of thing, so he enforced his will on them. When someone had beat him up for it, he went to their dormitories and read loudly ghost stories. [ Sound familiar? ] He was very nice usually though. A memory of him is still on my ship.

They probably deserved it, yeah. But, it sounds like you've picked up the habit from him.

[ Anyway, even though it was like that in the Erebonian military as well, Rean couldn't condone anyone beating up another just for their hair style. ]

...Wait, you can keep memories of people on your ship? How?

Ah, it's more rather it's his doing, since his power had to do with paper. I have an old journal of his. It summons a kind of ghost of him with limited memories. [ And this theme continues on. ] He gets pretty startled whenever I meet with him since he only knew me as child and a young man, but he gets along with the children who go to the library and read to them. He's actually a very good babysitter~

[ ...Ah.

There was a certain solemn aspect to it, but it was expected once he said 'memory' and there was past tense. Though, Rean hadn't known for sure. ]

...He does sound like a reliable man to have around.

I don't think I've ever even heard of an arte or spell like that back home. But, he sounds like he was a rather powerful person too.
tokihanate: (I don't dislike that)

My comrades then... and now too, possessed a lot of skills. ESP greatly varies, especially with synthetic users who manifest their powers in unique ways. Then of course there's my Queen.

... But that wanders off the topic of ghosts, so let's change the subject. How are you doing with all those difficult people around you?

[ He'll listen closely to the other as he explained, but he'll also accept the change of topic. He'll pause, figuring out how to answer for a moment. ]

...I'm doing alright. It's been hard, but I think harder for certain people right now.

Regardless, I'm not about to stop for anything, so you don't have to worry. I'll see this through to the end so we can all get out of here after putting a stop to the Lady's plans.

Still working so hard, huh? Do your best. [ He'd say he believes in you but..... he doesn't so much believe in everyone else so. Just have this grandpa cheering you on quietly. ]

[ The sentiment there was enough to get a bit of the idea across, or at least...Rean was glad to hear the encouragement. ]

Thank you for having faith in me, Kyousuke.

...And for everything that you've done for us. I promise I won't let you down.
tokihanate: (this world sure sucks)

[personal profile] tokihanate 2020-02-12 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't do much at all.

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-02-12 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
...Well, I can't help but figure that everyone's efforts was at least something that should be acknowledged.
tokihanate: (eat shit minamoto)

[personal profile] tokihanate 2020-02-12 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Optimistic as ever. [ He doesn't sound displeased. ] I suppose you'll need that attitude.

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-02-12 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah...it's definitely been helpful before. And considering what we're up against, I can only imagine that'll remain the same.

[ It's going to be difficult as all hell, and sure it's absolutely going to take all they've got to face The Lady down.

To that end, the higher their morale (as much it could be??), the better. ]
tokihanate: (o rly now)

[personal profile] tokihanate 2020-02-12 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well, he's not sure about your lot that thinks Ango is somehow worse than a serial killer. ]

We'll do our best from our end too. We probably won't be able to talk after, but hopefully we can still watch on.

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-02-12 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you all will.

[ Rean was of the personal opinion that Shin was far worse and he couldn't stand him, but he's unsure if that's because he's biased or not since Shin killed Olivier...

THEN AGAIN the guy talked about furniture people or whatever. So. Yeah that guy can kiss a cactus. ]

I'm hoping you can. It'd probably be really nervewracking if you guys weren't able to.

tokihanate: (you're stupidly cute)

[personal profile] tokihanate 2020-02-12 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ You're a good boy with your priorities straight!! These people around you are so weird?? Or is the Twilight mentality just that much weirder? ]

I'll ask ojou-san. She's doing her best too.

[personal profile] reanbeans 2020-02-13 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Perhaps...! ]

Please do give my thanks to her as well.
tokihanate: (up to no good)

[personal profile] tokihanate 2020-02-14 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I wi-[ A beat. ] Actually, no. I won't. You should do it yourself. That's proper motivation for someone like yourself, isn't it?

[ Rean will crack a smile at that. ]

...Haha, yeah. It is.

I'll look forward to giving my thanks to her personally then, along with seeing His Highness, you, and most of the others on the other side in person again.
