WEEK 6
WEEK 6
Five weeks. It's been five weeks, and twenty-seven has now dwindled down to eleven. And while only two passed this week, this trial may have been the most devastating in its own way, as threads of patience frayed and fragments of trust fractured. Nevertheless, if The Lady is to be believed, that may very well have been the final set of sacrifices that she was waiting for, so perhaps the end is in sight.
Of course, the fact that everyone is still stuck in Krakow means that it's not over yet, and who even knows what's happening over in the Twilight?
And so, some more changes are in store for this week, even if it may not be the same ones that you've gotten used to. For one thing, the fog stays put and no new areas of the city are revealed under the light of the lampposts. Secondly, The Lady is nowhere to be found in the city, with her bookstore office vacated and abandoned with nary a trace as to where she went. And third, the clock tower will no longer operate, which-- well. Actually that's not new at all, but it certainly may make it difficult to keep up with the facade of passing days. At least the moon still serves as a reminder of that, gibbous phase waxing into something fuller over the course of the week even if the color looks a bit off.
It may not be a fresh new start, but it's not time to give up yet, is it? After all, you are all Survivors.
[[Welcome to Week 6! Note that there are no new locations this week, but feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. As alluded above, The Lady will be unavailable, while Rembrandt will still be around on Monday and Tuesday before disappearing for the rest of the week.]]

investigation x2??? these are probably short!!
After seeing that the fog hasn't moved any, he heads to the boutique. He'll be in here for awhile picking through the clothes looking for... something. What exactly is it he's in here for?? Good question.
Up next is the bookstore... Hmm. He came in here to get a few books for today's project but the Lady isn't in... So he's going to see if he can investigate her office. Is the door locked?
Later on, it's time for SCIENCE. What's that you say, Iago's from a totally backwards world and doesn't know how to science? You're damn right, but he's got entirely too many books and a can-do attitude and he is going to learn how to science if it kills him. He's holed up in the lab currently investigating that sludge Ulquiorra left. He will figure out how to use a microscope if he has to in order to get something out of this!! But for now, he's just sort of looking through all of them looking for any that look off or different - what exactly do these look like anyway?]
Investigations!
The office is vacant! So the door isn't locked. Come in!
The portrait that used to hang from the wall is gone, and the desk drawers are completely empty. The failed generator is still around, but it's in pieces now, and what's standing was very clearly looted. Looks like the office has been carefully cleaned of anything that could have been of use.
The Lady knows very well how to cover her tracks, Iago. Boy does she ever!
-----
Time to investigate the Ulquiorra soup. Using a microscope is a smart idea! And soon he should be able to see something. There's currency here!
...no, Ulquiorra didn't have zloty milkshakes, that'd be silly. The currency that's seen here are those strange, black things people have been using to acquire things at the shop. There are very small particles identical to those.
That sure is something, huh]
no subject
MEANWHILE, THE SOUP oh my god okay, microscopes are sure a thing but he can figure this out fairly easily given how much dumb shit he's bought from the shop. He even double checks with one of those just to be sure!! Hmm. This is definitely weird though - it just looks like particles of those, right? It isn't as though this is melted-down currency, right...........
...are we exchanging soup for more weapons. Is that where this is going.]
no subject
Maybe Hollows drink sin and since money fuels greed he had a lot of liquid greed in his closet and okay this is silly]
no subject
no subject
Nope, nothing else about the Ulquiorra soup. You did good, Iago]
no subject
also that's a lot of money. can't believe we're gonna blow it all on gacha rolls.
Thanks, mods! He'll be sure to let everyone else know about this!!]
Science
That's how he passes by the lab and spots Iago, who he's now... apparently on okay terms with? Good enough terms to get curious about what he's doing anyway. ]
Find anything of relevance?
no subject
I did, yes! Here, take a look at this.
[He has even properly prepared this microscope! Holy shit, who knew all that reading and studying would actually pay off, I sure didn't. Anyway, the sludge under the microscope sure does look a bit familiar, but if Mikami can't place it right away, Iago gestures to microscope #2, which has a piece of that currency they've been using in the shop under it.]
I believe those in the Twilight have left us something very valuable.
[that is such a shitty pun.]
no subject
That's...
[ He moves back and runs a hand over his face, because wow. ]
It's all connected, isn't it? The currency, the manifestations, this... Does she liquefy them?
no subject
[But that doesn't mean she didn't find out.]
From what I understand, these [gestures to all 83 of them] were left by Ulquiorra. It may be that they were able to leave these for us by melting them down.
[only sludge can pass through the twilight barrier???????]
no subject
[ He stares at the sludge vials, counting them absentmindedly as if the number was going to help him figure this out in any way. ]
The currency... the manifestation in the mail chute... this... It all keeps coming back down to the scaley something you turn into when you sell your soul.
Did we ever actually confirm that the items we receive are related to the Lady at all?
no subject
I'm not sure if anyone ever asked Rembrandt or the Lady about it. It wasn't something I thought about.
I won't do anything with these until we've discussed it with the others, but I'm very curious what will happen if we leave them at the post office.
[will we get more weapons?? melted weapons?????]

boutique;
...Do you need looking for something?
no subject
[He's looking through the suit jackets right now.]
no subject
Of course. Let me also know if you need help with selecting or finding anything—though, I imagine you might have something already in mind.
no subject
[Ah, look at this! Iago's expression brightens when he finds something - a black suit jacket with a subtle floral pattern. Definitely not his usual style, since he prefers solid black with only colored ties, but he looks very pleased with it anyway.]
I want to go into our final confrontation with the Lady prepared.
[is now really the time to be thinking about fashion???]
no subject
So he smiled softly and thought it was a little cute Iago was thinking of Dist. That's what Rean assumed, anyway. ]
Haha, I can understand that, I think.
[ Sometimes not only do you think of your dead beloved, but you also want to look flashy for the final battle. ]
I'm not really an expert on fashion either, but I don't think anything the Lady has could best that.
no subject
Her mask certainly can't.
[ah yes, back to this..........]
I appreciate your support, as always. I look forward to destroying her together.

science!
Hello? This is workin' right?
no subject
Yes, it is. This is Iago speaking, is there a message you need to pass on to us?
no subject
It's Alfyn here! Not to pass on, but I heard about Shin givin' out the list of things, so I wanted to see if y'all had any progress yet.
[The graveyard is fast, what's to say the living couldn't also have gotten things done.]
no subject
[Not like he's complaining about a break. Hi, Alfyn.]
I do know Teru Mikami has thoroughly invested the first floor of the hotel and made little progress, though he's likely to examine that... "football field" tomorrow.
no subject
[Football is just as lost on him, so you're in good company Iago]
I think the field was on there, so that'll be good.
[Assuming there's something there that can help anyway]
no subject
[He has done nothing but study things all game, time to actually put some work in...]
It isn't dark magic, but I doubted it would be.
[we've got some gross sludgey dark magic spells...]
