[ There probably isn't a single person among them who isn't exhausted after that trial, so it's no surprise that, like last week, there's no party when it's over. Maybe some stay out and mill about the city, while others finally take the chance to get some well-deserved sleep.

Personally, Rideaux is absolutely going to bed now, because it's fucking 10 am or something, and that was a lot.

But when he wakes up again in what is nominally the afternoon, once he's taken a shower and no longer looks like a haggard mess, he's actually going to hole up in the kitchen at the clergy housing and make some pancakes. Just pancakes and nothing else, because this mix is "just add water!" and that's the extent of his cooking skills the most effort he's going to put into anything. Some of them may be slightly burned and oddly shaped, but they're free, so shut it.

There's also some coffee and some (cheap, not his good stuff) whiskey, so if you want to make a half-assed Irish coffee, he's not stopping you.

Is this supposed to be a distraction? Is this actually all just to celebrate the fact that Cumore briefly thought he was going to die and that was delicious to watch? Maybe, but no one has to know that. ]

It all boils down to what that method is, and if we have all the tools we need to execute it. ... It's hard to say if we do since we have no idea what this final act is going to entail.

[ H u h. That's the second sort-of apology he's received today and he certainly didn't expect it. It's really the only good part of the day so far. He is respected a minimal bit more than he had resigned himself to. ]

You did what you thought was right. I don't bear you a grudge for trying to solve the murder, even if your accusations were misguided. This trial was taxing on all of us.

[ for as callous and unfeeling as she appears to be, seeing mikami and iago break down the way they did brought about unpleasant feelings. they're still unpleasant to think about. she's mostly glad they have it together now. ]

It was...an error on my part. To have forgotten your convictions and your intent to survive here.

[ it comes out a little rugged, like she's having a hard time speaking her mind. (she is.) funny how she antagonized him for his morals early on, only to have forgotten them during the trial. ]

I have no qualms about leaving Ango behind, should we be given the opportunity to free Twilight.

[ Her efforts in saying all of this even though it is hard for her are appreciated. Mikami had not expected this of her and it is certainly raising his opinion of her whole person. ]

After all the trouble and grief he has caused all of us, I think fighting for his well-being is hardly a rational choice to make either way. Not that rationality has always been some of our greatest strength here.

Absolutely not on both counts. Emotions aside, Ango just simply can't be trusted. While he did say that The Lady needed him to be caught and a confession was forbidden, he was irrational enough to kill Dist, who would've been very helpful at this point in time. All for two people.

It's clear that his priorities are elsewhere and not in the group's best interests.

[ He's nodding along with that as she speaks, chewing on a bite of pancake. All of these things have been said before, but he does not get tired of hearing them and agreeing with them. The fuck-Ango circlejerk is soothing. ]

Related to this, I think we should be keeping a close eye on Dazai. He had always appeared to be the less trustworthy of the two to start with and this is only becoming acutely more worrisome.

I've never been fond of him in the first place, so you won't hear any complaints there.

[ she already had a very ill opinion of him since he pushed her into the pool. and now, knowing that he lied to everyone about his power...yeah no dazai can eat it. ]

I don't see him working against us to defeat The Lady necessarily, but regardless, whatever faith I had in him is essentially gone.
