weekend mingle featuring 5 pm brunch because time is meaningless now
[ There probably isn't a single person among them who isn't exhausted after that trial, so it's no surprise that, like last week, there's no party when it's over. Maybe some stay out and mill about the city, while others finally take the chance to get some well-deserved sleep.
Personally, Rideaux is absolutely going to bed now, because it's fucking 10 am or something, and that was a lot.
But when he wakes up again in what is nominally the afternoon, once he's taken a shower and no longer looks like a haggard mess, he's actually going to hole up in the kitchen at the clergy housing and make some pancakes. Just pancakes and nothing else, because this mix is "just add water!" and that'sthe extent of his cooking skills the most effort he's going to put into anything. Some of them may be slightly burned and oddly shaped, but they're free, so shut it.
There's also some coffee and some (cheap, not his good stuff) whiskey, so if you want to make a half-assed Irish coffee, he's not stopping you.
Is this supposed to be a distraction? Is this actually all just to celebrate the fact that Cumore briefly thought he was going to die and that was delicious to watch? Maybe, but no one has to know that. ]

I can't deny that in the moment you accused me, I was terrified.
[ Maybe not as terrified as when Cumore had seemed like a likely suspect, but we're not going to examine this. ]
But in the end, we were working towards a shared goal. It was inane to accuse Cumore. However the case may have been with Sonui, it still didn't make any sort of sense. You and I appear to have been the only ones to see that much.
I was blinded by Sakaguchi's lies, but not enough to fall into that trap.

[That's perhaps the greatest insult, because Iago's best asset here is his intellect, and to ruin that leaves him with... well, a lot of shrieking and hysterics, if we're perfectly honest.]
I even mentioned it, that he kept answering questions for Dazai about Sonui, but I... couldn't focus. It was something I should have been able to see.
[He's not going to apologize for it, because he was perfectly justified in being completely fucked up over Dist's death, but at the same time it's a personal failing that agitates him.]

[And while that actually bothers him less than Dist because he's very used to people wanting to kill him, the fact that Ango would have robbed the group of both of their absolutely astounding intellects certainly says a lot.]
He wanted Dazai to live, but how exactly did he expect that to happen after he killed Dist? He deserves to rot for everything he's done, and I won't hear arguments from anyone else about why he should be brought back.
[He's smiling, but there's nothing pleasant in the expression.]

[ And that's neither here nor there. Mikami and Dazai had certainly bonded over their mutual fatigue with generally existing, but that bond is now severely tainted. (This may not be a bad thing.) ]
I do not intend to give up, but if we make it out of this, it will be in the full knowledge that Sakaguchi has tripled the effort.

Thank you for your support. What I need most right now is any more information we can possibly get. Whether that's from the Lady and Rembrandt or from the areas here doesn't matter - anything else we can learn will be essential.
Everything we can learn will be to our benefit. Right now, we need to put aside our differences and how much we can't stand one another and work to reach a common goal. I think we can all agree that we're done dealing with the Lady and Rembrandt at the very least.
