After Trial Mingle

[ Seems like everyone is either hiding from any blood bending, wanting to take the time to think, or just doing their on thing after a trial as long as that one is. So here's a general mingle for after the trial or the rest of the weekend. ]

[ raven tracks him down. she looks pretty miffed about....something....she clears her throat to announce her presence. ]

We need to discuss something.

[ Ah, he's been expecting her. ]

Sure. I'm all ears.

[raventhaw]

You're lucky that we found the right people with those hints.

[ she doesn't look happy at all. ]

There are other people who're willing to take them. Don't offer yourself again.

[ he'll be able to see her hand wrapped around her notebook. he knows exactly what's in there. ]

I won't.

[ As much as Shiro would do it again in a heartbeat... well, he'd made a promise. ]

[ a deep breath, then: ]

Good.

[ there's an unusual amount of concern in the way she says that, too. ]

Tell me what she did to you.

He pulls the neck of his collar away from his skin, a little. Those black splotches go much further down. ]

Other than the hunger, I have these, all over my torso and back. They don't hurt. There's no feeling whatsoever.

Yeah. They could've given me a tail, and then I'd be causing problems for everyone.

Even so, I don't think you of all people should've had to take the fall for the rest of us.

The one time I don't go above and beyond, and it comes back to bite me.

[ He doesn't answer automatically at first. For Shiro... he felt he had to. Maybe it's foolish (alright, it is, he realizes that, but Shiro's not new to doing foolish things), but it's just...

[ she studies his expression and his tone for a moment. ]

[ He's really off his game, huh. ]

[ It's not sardonic or harsh, just... tired. ]

[ a beat. ]

Rest. This upcoming week won't be any kinder than the last.

[galrarm]

[ He gets the feeling she just might be worried. ]

Rest? Me? I'm practically an expert.

[ he pauses. ]

... You too. I've got the feeling it'll only get more intense.

[raventhaw]

I don't doubt it.

[ and there's the dryness in her voice again. hope you enjoyed that brief moment of concern, shiro. ]

[ *Shiro will remember this. ]

Seems to be how it goes. As much as I'd like to hope for a break, I'm not optimistic.
