After Trial Mingle

[ Seems like everyone is either hiding from any blood bending, wanting to take the time to think, or just doing their on thing after a trial as long as that one is. So here's a general mingle for after the trial or the rest of the weekend. ]

[ Dazai is in the laundromat, climbing into the washer machine. He has one leg already inside of the barrel of the machine, his hands are on the rim, and he's lifting his other leg up just as Mikami walks in. Pausing to stare at him.

[ The temptation to simply walk out again is... very high. ]

Yes, to remind myself to not use that machine again. What are you doing?

[ It's a washing machine. The mafia germs will come off after a cycle or two ]

Just going to turn around and then pull his leg out of the barrel to sit on the edge of the machine instead. ]

[ The germs will come off, but the memory of this sight is tragically forever. Burned into his retinas for good. ]

Why. I'm going to regret asking this, but why would you want to fit into a washing machine?

[ He already knows he's going to regret the answer. ]

I'm making my own list of the ways I could kill myself. Suffocation is painful, but it might not be a bad idea here considering some of the alternatives.

[ There is the usual expression on his face. ]

[ Mikami barely even blinks. The topic has been on his own mind for a few days now, so the only surprising thing here is to hear it coming from someone else so casually. ]

I'm sure you'd be able to find something simpler and more efficient than whatever this is. Are you intending on quitting this hostage situation that way?

Mikami's reaction does tell Dazai a couple of things. Putting his elbow on his knee as he rests his chin in his hand to look at the lawyer. ]

I'm sure there are, but I'd like to keep my options open. [ In case one of the other ones get wrecked or something ] I'm considering it as my last card to deal. I still would like to pay our hosts back first if I can.

That's reasonable. I can't say that I care whether you live through this or not, but it seems like a waste to go before we find a way to get back at the Lady and her lackey. For the sake of that, I'll work even with criminals.

I do intend on making the most of the time we have left. [ Which includes doing damage if he can ]

If we both fail at that, we can always take each other out in the end.

I was that obvious then.

[ Well, he doesn't really care that the cats out of the bag, but weird to be read like this. ]

I'd vastly prefer to die quietly and separately after we remove the threat our captor pose, but... worse come to worst, I am not surrendering our bodies or souls to her.

[ And that's as close as he'll come to giving a mafiosi permission to kill him. ]

If that's what you seek after all of this is over... I'll free you from this world.

[ He knows that feeling and what it's like for that choice to be removed time and time again. ]

Maybe Rideaux will be so kind as to share his poison.

[ He would probably donate to the kill dazai club gladly ]

I somehow doubt that.

[ Rideaux seems to have had enough of literally everyone here and Mikami can't even blame the man. ]

The question is if whatever afterlife is in place here will be dissolved after the Lady is out of power - neither of us would enjoy getting stuck in the Twilight, I assume.

I know I wouldn't. The point of dying is because it's the one single moment that can not be changed. It's the freedom from this slowly oxidizing world.

[ tfw you're intelligent, bored, and super depressed. ]

We'll have to put our all into solving this place first then.

[ He'll nod along with that morbid assessment. His suicidal considerations are not as poetic or philosophical, but he can agree with the overall statement. The point is to be gone for good. ]

Hopefully we'll be able to set those previously deceased free as well, one way or another.
