WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

[ He just skipped over the regular meaning of the card and the repeating bits. ]
Are you ready for your future?
no subject
[He has to keep telling himself that it's just dumb fortune-telling cards and not real at all, this isn't real, it's just a game.]

He flips through the booklet until he finds it. Hmm. ]
Coldness. Moodiness. Bad advice. [ Giving the short summary first. ]
In this position, it means the he is unable to balance the needs of all that seek his guidance, and while appearing kind to some, may be cold to others. His talent in navigating the emotions of others may be put to dubious uses, manipulating circumstances to fit his needs.
[ There's a pause before he continues. ]
This card depicts someone in your life, whether they are a part of you or someone else, with these characteristics. That his actions will be used for vengeance and vindication, impulses that he normally has under control, and is eventually aimed at being some form of punishment.

Please ignore a couple droplets that end up on the table. It's totally water from a glass or something.]

I see. That is...an interesting reading, to be sure.
[Luckily he does not believe in any of it, so it can't possibly be real.]

There's a beat before he grabs a random card to flip it over. It's a naked chick. ]
Whoa~ I didn't know it had nudity.
[ Drawing anyone's attention to the card instead of Ango. ]
Oh, the message isn't bad on this one. It's about hope.
no subject
...and there is quite a bit of nudity on these cards, yes.
[He's being a bit of a negative nancy now. The truth he's been hiding is eating away at him, and it probably won't be long before he has to speak out about it.]
no subject
[ He'll shuffle the cards before offering them and the booklet back over to Ango. He does take the chance to press his fingers against Ango's hand when he does reach for them. It's brief to keep others from noticing it. ]
Do me next.
no subject
I did say I wanted to do cards for you next, didn't I?
[His heart isn't quite as into it when he shuffles the cards and gets the emperor first.]
Ah. A fitting card for a mafia executive as yourself. I think you can guess what this card means about you.
no subject
It looks pretty serious~ Like someone in control?
[ Sorry friendo ]

[Do de doo, two of pentacles!]
And this one is all about finding balance, specifically between two ideas. If you have two things weighing heavily on your mind, then it means you're supposed to find a way to fulfill both at the same time. No overindulgence in one side, strive to meet both equally.
[For a moment, he thinks back to the bar and their little trio there. Dazai, Ango, and Odasaku. Dazai balancing his affection for both Odasaku and Ango.
That makes his heart feel heavy, because he knows how that story turns out.]
no subject
A balancing act, huh?
[ Looking at the card for a moment. ]
I don't know about that. I do like overindulging.
1/2
[He's smiling as he reaches for that last card-]
2/3 I lied

I-
[Sorry Dazai, he's just. Getting up from the table and leaving now.]

Then he looks at the card. It looks like they are wearing a funeral shroud.
He'll flip it back over, deciding not to look it up just this once. ]
