WEEK 4
WEEK 4
Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.
But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.
[[Welcome to Week 4! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 4 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Well, I suppose there is a bit of truth in that one. [WAY MORE THAN HE'D CARE TO ADMIT] What's up next?

[Seeing the ten of cups in reverse, however, is.]
Er...I think your journey isn't going to be a happy one, at least at first. When this card is face-up, it pretty much means "getting a happy ending". But upside-down, it means the opposite of that. The answers you find are going to break up your happiness, basically.

[Weirdly enough, that one's actually a little better, and more or less what he's been expecting. Still, it's not pleasant to see it spelled out so plainly.]
Well, that sounds troubling. What's next?

I...think this means that the root cause of your lack of happiness is selfishness and a focus on material goods and temporary wants. You may be able to indulge in some luxury, but that indulgence ultimately weighs you down.
So I think overall it means you want to find wisdom, peace, or happiness of some kind. But you keep giving in to your own selfish desires, which grants fleeting joy but also ruins any chance you have at finding that overall happiness you seek.

I... see...
[HE DID NOT ASK TO BE CALLED OUT LIKE THIS TODAY, THANKS!!!!!]
Well, you certainly are good at coming up with these! I'm sure the others are enjoying your fortune telling skills as well.
[THANKS, HE HATES IT]

[Yes he memorized like 100 pages of nonsense, don't judge him.]
Though the booklet did also say that this is all just guidance, and that your choices are your own. So there's that at least?

[which is exactly why he's going to leave this party and go straight to the tarot store to pick up a deck and learn how to do this himself, but shhhh]
Still, I must admire your dedication to memorize so much information in such a short amount of time. I hope your other readings have been equally fun.
["""fun"""]

[yep. It totally is.]
Some were, but it would be much more fun if I could stack the deck and draw the cards I want to show. I might have to find a way to subtly mark the cards.

[Considering what he found (or rather, didn't find) in the tarot shop... hmm.]
