Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.

But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.

[what a fucking weekend that was.

Okay, well, it's a new week, and it's time to do a little exploring! That's probably a good distraction from whatever the fuck all that was. Sigh. Okay. He'll check out the boutique first to see if there's anything he can fit over his spikes without ruining it. He feels kind bad just stealing, so if he can return the clothes without destroying them...

...

Well, it's probably not going to happen, but he's doing his best here, alright. Even with the nicer temperatures it's too cold for anything backless and he's not really much of a tailor beyond simply mending clothes, so he's gonna be here a while...

After he's either found something or just kinda given up, he's going to head to the... well, he starts out on the footbridge and tries to figure out what's going on with it, but once he's done an investigation... woof. He's not super fond of those statues!

So he's going to hang out by the river as much as he can during the warmer hours of the day. It's warmer than it has been, so he'll just take a break by hanging out not too far to the side of the bridge and watching the water go by.]

Ah, if only I had a fishing pole... this is the one place it's appropriate.

[ Well, he was in luck, because here Rean was in the boutique, taking a look at what they had. And he was actually holding Seteth in mind, because he still had intentions to help out someone who needed it. ]

Oh, hello Seteth. It's nice to see you in here too.

[ He looked like a man on a mission, though Rean could guess why. ]

Was there any kind of color or clothing that you feel that's been calling out to you...?

I'm glad to see more options than costumes, at least, though I am surprised to see how many clothes there are just on display. I'm more used to having to go to a tailor for any clothes.

I tend to like dark blue, gold, red, and white. Not all at once, of course, but those are the colors I like. I also like more formal looking things, though... I suppose I'll settle for anything that fits.

[ He looked thoughtful himself, and well, he had discussed it vaguely before with the other, he believed. ]

If you don't mind, I could even make some adjustments to some of the clothing here for you. It shouldn't be too hard, or if you have a specific request, I'm sure I could put together something.

[ It's an offer, because he knew it must be difficult fitting into other clothes with what The Lady had done to him. Though this time he could make good on the offer. ]

It is, yes. It is nice to have variety in general, I think, but that is not always an option.

Haha, yeah. Thinking about it now, I guess we did have some variety before, but the outfits in the opera house were kind of...a little lacking, if you know what I mean?

[ Rean was not going to place himself in a stuff outfit, thanks. ]

They seemed closer to what I am used to wearing in many respects, though most of it was not quite my style.

...Thinking about it, I guess some people back home might say that some of those outfits might suit me.

[ Basically, probably some other nobles he hadn't been too familiar with. ]

That's true. There was some variety, at least, even if it was nothing approaching this.

[ah, hm, this suit set is nice too... it might go well with the turtleneck...?]

Yeah. And at least it'll be easier to protect against the cold weather pragmatically.

[ Seeing as there's some lovely winter coats...which will eventually be used in murder, but still. ]

Investigation

[The footbridge is pretty scenic even in the low light conditions, with the lights from the lampposts reflecting softly off the surface of the river below. There's plaques at both ends of the bridge talking a bit about the history and its name, but the main features are definitely the sculptures on the suspension wires and the many padlocks on the railings.

What does Seteth want to look at first?]

[Hmmm. Well, it's a little easier to get a close look at the padlocks, so he'll look at those first!]

[There's a lot of them, for one thing! In contrast with the creepy figures, some of these are actually rather charming with the variety of shapes, colors and messages on display. Some of them are fairly simple, with the names of two people written or carved onto the locks while some are more elaborate, with hearts or other motifs drawn in or dates of something or other. There's one rather large one that stands out among the rest though, with a long blue ribbon tied along its shackle. The lock itself simply reads:

[Good call, Seteth! Because there actually is something written in permanent marker on one of the sides of the ribbon. It says:

[Nope, that seems to be it. The rest of the padlocks don't really stand out either. Anything else he wants to look at?]

[Let's start checking out the statues! He won't be climbing up to personally mess with them unless something catches his eye, but is there anything that immediately stands out from giving them attention?]

[Despite the discomfiting nature of the statues, they are actually pretty innocuous, showing nine different individuals engaging in a number of dynamic and athletic poses. They're pretty well sculpted and the expressions would probably look less ominous during the day, but that's more of a product of the way the shadows fall on them than anything else. Besides that, there's nothing particularly unusual about them.]

[All right! Nothing weird about those, actually. Let's check out the plaques, then!]

[The plaques pretty much have the same thing written on them and the summary is that the bridge's official designation is Father Bernatek's Bridge, built in 2010. The moniker of Lover's Bridge came with the fact that the scenic walk became popular amongst couples and they started adding love padlocks onto the railings and tossing the keys into the river below. Furthermore, the nine figures were added sometime later and now add to the bridge's sightseeing appeal.

Ango is going to indicate to something backless, though, before following it up with another addition: a coat.]

If you use multiple layers, you can cover up without damaging the clothes.

That makes about as much sense as anything else, I suppose. And it won't look too out of place...
