Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.

But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.

I've heard of this sort of fortune telling in Hoshido, though we don't have anything similar. All of our magic is real.

[You know, with all the... everything that went on, Seteth does kind of wonder if they bothered cleaning up the pool, and... welp! He wasn't quite expecting Zangetsu to be taking care of it, but here he is. He'll walk on in to say hi!]

How could Iago possibly guess the suits Dist was looking at though...is he that obvious... Sarcasm aside, he's quick to pull Iago over to the suits.]

Oh, this will be easy.

[He starts selecting some options for Iago to try- shirts, jackets, pants, ties... And he makes sure there are plenty of gold accents to go with the mask. It's definitely more toned down on the eccentric front, but unfortunately, those accents are tragically missing from this boutique.

Speaking of the mask, though...]

What is your attachment to that mask, Iago? I am curious.

[It's genuine curiosity. Since he an Iago are on good terms, he feels comfortable in finally asking about it. Does Iago have a scar under there or something...?]

It's primarily because I like the look of it.

Magic as you know it doesn't exist in my world. There are abilities, which are actually pretty similar to what we have here. Everyone's is unique and only does one specific thing. There's no all-encompassing 'magic' that can do everything.

And yet people still believe in fortune-telling and the like.

That said, Iago isn't the only one that's found their way in here, and he isn't even the only person that's found their way to the crystals; he's looking them over with a bit of an Expression, and once in a while he'll pick them up and turn them over in his hands, though he doesn't seem to know what to make of them.]

I have to wonder what these are even used for here.

Magic doesn't work precisely like that either - there are specializations in magic.

[But that's not the point, so he'll dismiss it once that's out there. He just has to correct people about magic okay, leave him alone!!]

I'm surprised such things ever gained popularity in your world. I believe you've said those abilities aren't something most people know about, is that correct?

You are correct. It's quite rare, and ability-users are encouraged to keep quiet about what they can do. So most people go their entire lives without ever meeting someone who has an ability.

Honestly, if it weren't pertinent to our situation here, I never would have revealed that I have an ability.

The end result (minus said tie, of course) is certainly a little strange given the mask, but it's not a bad sort of strange? Iago's fussing a bit with the clothes as he exits, handing one of the chosen ties off to Dist immediately.]

If I had to guess, I'd assume they're a conduit, but there's been no other indication of magic being present in this world, so I suppose that isn't likely. They are pretty though.

[so you know what that means, we're going to steal them.]

They're similar to blastia, in ways. I won't know for sure until we're under a better light source, but it's what they remind me of.
