Last week could probably only be summed up as a mess. Three people died, one was turned to currency and the hotel pool remains in a general state of unusability unless swimming in pulpy mush is someone’s idea of a good time. And that’s not even counting the haunted morse code T-Rex. At least the greenhouse is as relaxing as ever, even if someone seems to have made off with a number of succulents and cacti.

But with the new week comes a new set of locations to explore as the fog retreats to reveal another portion of the city. The half moon wanes to a new moon this week, leaving streets even dimmer this week -- hopefully you have some other portable sources of light available if you plan on straying too far beyond the reach of the lampposts in the new areas.

[Despite the discomfiting nature of the statues, they are actually pretty innocuous, showing nine different individuals engaging in a number of dynamic and athletic poses. They're pretty well sculpted and the expressions would probably look less ominous during the day, but that's more of a product of the way the shadows fall on them than anything else. Besides that, there's nothing particularly unusual about them.]

[It looks like he hasn't actually been doing anything too productive, but you're likely to recognize what he's been doodling as magic circles; designs that aren't quite the same between worlds but are close enough to be easily recognizable. There are a few designs that are more geometric and obviously not for magic, as well. But it's mostly anything you'd expect of a mage, though it ranges from obviously dark magic in design to things that could possibly be reason magic, if one weren't entirely familiar with what reason magic tomes look like.]

I don't mind it. It's not as though any of them are particularly useful here anyway.

[The detail on the magic designs is pretty damn intricate, but obviously even a perfect one wouldn't work without the rest of the tome, so...]

[ Nothing looks familiar to Iago and everything is in Polish, with the occasional English book sprinkled in. One section seems to be the cause of the sparsity, the D's.

The D section is stocked with the following: Dark History of the Occult, De nugis curialium, Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie, Dreaming the Dark, Dürr-i Meknûn. A not too shabby selection but it's really weird how one popular occult subject seems to be skipped over entirely, huh? ]

That's good to hear. Anything we can learn will be useful. It still feels as though we hardly know anything about our captors.

Well, regardless of the motivation, hard work is always better than idleness, I think. As long as you are not being completely overburdened, I think this is good for you.

[ Sometime Tuesday afternoon (about an hour or more after the motive), Zangetsu and Erik are finally making their move! It took a lot of effort and planning to get here, and it definitely took some time waiting for this amount of rain, but hopefully it's all going to be worth it! And if not, well, they'll always remember trying to hop over a 20ftish wall in the pouring rain.

Correction, not in the rain. During a thunderstorm.

There's a 50/50 chance Erik's hair is going to attract lightning before either one of them ever makes it over this wall, isn't there? Oh well. He's willing to roll the dice even with those terrible stakes. Which is why Erik is currently waiting for Zangetsu near a random wall around Wawel Castle! If it helps any, he does have a bag with a few supplies in it! ]

Well, it is good to keep in practice, is it not, in the event that you find a proper medium for the spells? I have been trying to do that myself.

Anyway, Daemonologie? So like... demons, probably... Hmm!! Hopefully the Lady isn't trying to summon a demon, that sounds like it'd be a bad time.......

So this book mentioned isn't anywhere to be found with the others, correct? Anything else to note about the remaining books?]

Precisely. Theoretically I could put together a proper tome, but I would have to recreate every page and my memory isn't that incredible.

You're keeping your skills sharp with your weapons training, correct?

[it's the return of poncho hollow. Fucking rain. ALWAYS THE THE RAIN IN THIS PLACE. Zangetsu has the sword he bought with him, just in case, though he doesn't plan on going inside. He also brought his nightvision goggles.

And if Erik has a 50/50 chance, Zangetsu has an 80/20 thanks to his now singular lightning-rod horn. He grumbles, glaring out at everything from under his garbage bag hood]

Ugh. This weather.... Let's get this over with. How good are ya at climbing?

[ The man of the hour!! And he brought his own supplies. ]

In this weather? [ Gesturing at the rain with his left hand. He's given up on even trying to shield himself from the water, the Lady can just deal with drippy floors. ] I'd say my chances of slipping are better than I'd like. But I figure even if I do fall, you'll either catch me or I'll roll down the hill.

Either way, does it matter?

Hehehe! Well I was feeling a little dull, just lazing around all day or catching vermin. This is helpin' me work out my stiffness, too. [stiffness from getting into a dumb baby fight with Ulquiorra, that is] So what's up with you?

[ before yuzuru's....everything, raven can be found hoarding clothes from the boutique. it's clear she's looking for comfort rather than aesthetics here, and she can be seen leaving the store with an armful of garments from the women's section. alternatively, catch her in the act of picking and choosing what to wear, too!

raven can also be spotted on the footbridge. she seems to be deep in thought, looking out at the river. the weather is gusty, sure, but the fresh air is appreciated. she can also be found sporting one of her outfits from the boutique. it's entirely black; the only splashes red that can be found on her outfit tonight are on her hairpiece and her eyes.

if she hears someone approach, her hand will automatically move to the hilt of her sword. ]

It don't matter too much. [he taps the wall and makes a small patch of ice. Then, with his bare foot, he taps the ground. Yep, he can freeze with his toes, too. It'll be slick, but...]

Alright. [Zangetsu crouches and puts both hands on the wall and forms a foot long bar of ice, sticking out a few good inches. He experimentally stands on it, then makes another about ten inches up.

LADDER TIME

He does have claws on his toes, though, so he might have an easier time of this...]

[ Wow?? Bold of you to assume he doesn't have any claws, Zangetsu! ... but okay yeah, he doesn't have claws on his toes.

And welp, that is... something to behold. Elsa would be proud. ]

Your foot too, huh? Now there's a surprise. I didn't realize that power was so useful. [ But is it safe to climb yet? ]

[he talks as he continues to make new bars, each about ten inches higher than the last] Hehehe! The more I use it, the more I think it's probably one of the most useful powers. Still pales in comparison to what I'm used to. This wall would be toast.

[Once he's about halfway up, he'll signal for Erik to start climbing. Better get those claws out, bluenette]

You know, you might be right. I don't think any of the other ones are half as versatile as this ice power of yours seems to be.

[ Giving Zangetsu a thumbs up when he sees the signal!! Up he climbs! Slowly, and he tries to make sure he doesn't, like, stick to the ice or slip or anything! ]

[Shirtless!Zangetsu appears, dirty and sweaty after his community service, and... pauses at the boxes.

He squints, then looks at the pair suspiciously]

It's all about how ya use it, anyway... The big problem is that ya gotta have plenty of water on hand. There's two zanpakutou I know that can create ice. Both Sode no Shirayuki and Hyorinmaru can pull water right outta the air!

[OK!! The top of the wall is HERE!! ... getting down the other side is going to be slightly more interesting, but Zangetsu applies the same principle by using his feet to make the first few foot/handholds. As long as everything goes well, they should get over the wall in no time]

[ Correct, it's nowhere to be found! Neither are there any other books relating to demons. The Lady has terrible hobbies, clearly.
