WEEK 1
WEEK 1
Your hosts have come and gone, and have left you with nothing but more questions and a key. Regardless of how you reacted or what you decided to do soon after that, it’s a fact that the day must end eventually.
And so it does, with the striking of the clock. As the twelve gongs reverberate and disappear into the night, the rest of the city is left silent save for a chilly wind that skims the streets. Those who have retired to their assigned rooms will find that the furnishings are decent enough to get a good night’s sleep, while those who wander the city will only continue to see empty streets and fog. But regardless of how you spend the night, eventually it will become readily apparent that dawn will not be coming any time soon as the waxing moon continues to hang in the sky even as the clock strikes six or seven or eight.
No one’s stopping you from wallowing in bed or holing up in a building during this perpetual night, but there’s a whole city out there to check out and some interesting additions to the Opera House decor; don’t forget though, a cage is a cage and every good cage needs its bars. While a portion of the streets and buildings are clear, any intrepid explorers won’t find themselves able to get very far through the fog that surrounds them; anyone who tries to venture through will end up getting turned around and end up right back where they started. Still, there’s plenty of other places to check, even if the fog-shrouded buildings are more or less off limits. Fortune favors the bold, after all.
[[Welcome to Week 1! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also now privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt at your leisure!]]

[ Yeah, Rean's wet because he couldn't keep himself from running around in bad weather, rip. At least he wasn't soaking wet, but it's easily noticeable how much he was. ]
I'm really not sure. But, we could give it a try and see what happens?
no subject
Guess we don't have much of a choice. [ Hm. ] We are already wet, maybe we should just go out now before we dry off. If it doesn't pan out, we can always search the inside later.
no subject
[ And Rean had no issues with going out as he was, considering everything. ]
...And I do know our names have been revealed on the profiles that've been placed up, but I wanted to introduce myself properly. My name's Rean Schwarzer, and though our situation isn't exactly the best, I look forward to working with you.
no subject
I've been... avoiding that place anyway. [ So he never saw anyone's names, not yet. If everyone's already assuming people read the profiles though, it might be best to take a closer look later.
He doesn't wanna be too out of the loop. ] But Rean, huh? All right, Rean, it's nice to meet you. I'm sure you already know my name, but I might as well introduce myself too.
The name's Erik.
no subject
[ Rean figured it wasn't a pleasant place to visit considering their captors were there making their introduction not too long ago.
That being said, the other seemed like a fairly nice person. Which was refreshing, considering all that he saw at said dual-captor introduction. ]
While it's true I already knew your name, there's something about a real introduction I could appreciate. So, it's nice to meet you too, Erik.
no subject
[ 'cause he appreciates the introduction too. In his line of work, he is used to hearing about people second-hand but, well, this is a bit different. ]
Sure, there may be some perks to getting to get to know someone on paper, but it'll never tell you everything about a person. The only real way to get to know someone is to meet them one-on-one.
no subject
That's exactly right. There's really no substitute if you want to really know someone.
[ And then he'll turn towards the door. ]
But, with our introductions out of the way, I think it's a good time to get going, don't you?
no subject
But, well, doesn't really matter. Turning towards the door too. ]
As a good a time as any. Besides, it's not getting any dryer out there. [ Crossing his arms. ] Splitting up gives us more ground to cover, but with visibility so low it might not be a bad idea to turn our two bad eyes into four mediocre ones.
But I'll leave deciding what we actually do up to you.
no subject
[ He'll smile a little. He liked the idea of 'turning their two bad eyes into four mediocre ones', even if it had sounded silly. ]
I'll lead the way as well, if that's good with you. If you ever feel like changing your mind and splitting up, though, let me know, alright?
[ Rean would then begin to lead the way out of the clergy housing! ]
no subject
Works for me. I'm used to playing second fiddle anyway, doing it like this almost makes me feel like I'm back home.
[ Erik joined the party! He'll now follow Rean around in the rain for as long as it takes to find wood. ]
