Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.

But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

They are a very popular souvenir in my hometown. Keterburg is known for its beautiful snow showers.

[Even if it was the place of tragedy for him, he also has a lot of fond memories of his home.]

Is that what captivates you with the snowglobes? The snow particles?

I can imagine it's very beautiful. Perhaps you'll take me there someday.

Nohr is fairly cold compared to most of the surrounding countries and we do get snow, though not nearly as much as the northernmost regions of the country.

[and yet the dark mages still run around not wearing shirts smh.

He watches the snow swirl in this snowglobe for a moment, inclining his head.]

I'm not entirely sure what it is that's so captivating about these. They're... interesting.

["Cute" is probably the word he's looking for here.]

Iago can handle Nohr's cold in his dumb dark mage outfit but not Krakow's? smh.]

Charming, perhaps? [That's a little more Iago-sounding than "cute". Maybe.] Miniaturized scenes surrounded in snow... It is not uncommon to find them in the rooms of children in Auldrant.

Yes, charming sounds about right. [also thanks, he's definitely a kid.] We don't have anything quite like this in Nohr; I suppose it's the novelty of it that has me so captivated.

Krakow must be massively different than Nohr, hm? Strangely, it is not unlike Keterburg in some ways to me, the more I stop to consider it. The primary difference is that Keterburg is snowy year-round, and it has a massive port on Keterburg Bay. Though I suppose there could be a port hidden in the fog somewhere...

[neither of us are adults, despite us being some of the oldest normal-aged people left alive.]

Ah, is it? Fascinating... Nohr is land-locked; our neighboring country Nestra is located on the ocean and I've been to one of the port towns there, but I imagine Keterburg is vastly different.

[it's not like keterburg is a town devoted to entertainment or anything, right............]

I assume we won't be permitted to find anything of the sort even if it does exist; they don't want us to try to escape, after all.

It is difficult to say! I would only know if I visited myself. Or if you visited Keterburg, of course.

Mm, that is a fair point...though I would be interested in seeing how far the fog could truly stretch if we were given an opportunity to see the ocean.

I'm very curious about the fog as well. It seems like it's something they have control over, but I'm not certain it's magically created...

I wonder about that as well. For having given us our powers, it doesn't seem like she is from a world with magic herself. I wondered if she perhaps has a machine that can control the weather, but even I am not certain how such a thing would operate.

I imagine she could find a way, though such a thing sounds impossible. Perhaps it's a part of Rembrandt's powers - we still don't know exactly what he can and cannot do.

Good point. I legitimately have no idea about Rembrandt. Have you learned anything new that we have not?

I speak with him fairly frequently and I still feel no closer to understanding him.

[check back in a couple of days after whatever the hell their current conversation is???? yikes.]

I'm going to see if I can learn anything more from him at some point this week, but I feel as though I've told him more about myself...

Isn't he supposed to be giving you answers in exchange for the questions he asks you? A bit unfair for him to be vague after all you have likely said.

I suspect he'd be more straightforward if he didn't have the Lady to consider. He is fair and allows another question if he can't answer mine at all, but it's frustrating nevertheless.

...I've no idea of the man's powers, but he's a very particular and precise person, making him rather hard to please. I also made him tea once and he could tell that it had been oversteeped by ten seconds.

On the other side of things regarding his motivations, he's said to me that while he and the Lady do have an agreement—or rather, arrangement—that it doesn't mean that their desires line up perfectly.
