Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.

But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

Oh, uh...the backgrounds. They're very captivating too.

[ While that's true, there was a lot on his mind judging by his distracted response. But honestly? He kept thinking of a certain place back on his world when he looked at some of the paintings, where were bound to be some of this place. Probably. ]

...Kind of. Even though this place isn't anywhere back on my world, I'm reminds me of Legram a little from time to time.

art museum...adding another thread to our pile

[By some miracle, Dist was able to be pulled away from making a beeline to the autoshop to check out the art museum with Iago. He didn't explore much further than the visitors area yesterday, so this is some new territory.

He turns around from what he was looking at to see Iago on his mission of shaking all the snowglobes. He comes over to join him, picking up a snowglobe in the process of scattering particles of fake snow over the mini museum inside.]

I take it these have captured your interest?

[...okay Shiro you have his attention again.]

They have. [shakes another one!!] I received something similar from the post office, though I figured it belonged to someone so I didn't hold onto it.

[And now he has so many more to shake!! Look at them all. These are so cool!!!]

It was part of my education at the Garrison--the military I'm part of. Mostly I was a pilot, but it's a huge problem if your ship breaks down on a mission and there's no one around to fix it.

[ He runs a hand along one of the cars. ]

... That, and I just liked working on vehicles. And racing them.

[Sorry Iago, there are going to be some late nights spent here now...he appreciates the support, though.

He turns to Iago with a grin, happy to have the company.]

I am, and I don't mind at all. I did say that I would like to teach you a bit about engineering if we came across an opportunity.

I am actually working on something for Rideaux right now. [He motions to the red phone.] He needs something to charge this device of his.

[Well, he's always curious to learn about other people's worlds, so...]

I still am very interested in learning, but that can wait until you're done with your project.

[He studies the phone curiously, but doesn't reach out to touch it. It's pretty damn obvious he has no idea what it is and maybe he would want to get a closer look if it belonged to anyone else.]

Well, he's certainly left it in capable hands. I'm sure you'll figure something out in no time.

[ He returns the smile, which... well, it's pretty small too. Shiro's still not doing great after the weekend, but he can hide it well. It's what he's used to doing, after all. ]

[Okay, Dist can't help but smile because that's pretty cute. He also doesn't manage to hold back a chuckle.]

They are a very popular souvenir in my hometown. Keterburg is known for its beautiful snow showers.

[Even if it was the place of tragedy for him, he also has a lot of fond memories of his home.]

Is that what captivates you with the snowglobes? The snow particles?

I can imagine it's very beautiful. Perhaps you'll take me there someday.

[They're more idle words than anything else as he considers his response.]

Nohr is fairly cold compared to most of the surrounding countries and we do get snow, though not nearly as much as the northernmost regions of the country.

[and yet the dark mages still run around not wearing shirts smh.

He watches the snow swirl in this snowglobe for a moment, inclining his head.]

I'm not entirely sure what it is that's so captivating about these. They're... interesting.

["Cute" is probably the word he's looking for here.]

[...yeah Seteth kind of expects what his is going to be when he opens it, but it's so much. So much more than just his own identity and that of his daughter's. It's kind of hard to tell if he's pissed or terrified from his expression, obviously.

[Wow, there really are a lot of military personnel in their group. He feels like he's constantly learning of more every week.]

My world has vehicles and ships, but they aren't exactly commonplace. We certainly do not have transport vehicles as small as these.

[He motions to the car that Shiro is touching.]

I would be interested in hearing about your experience with them.

[Honestly, fair. Very fair.

Since Dazai brought them up, Dist sets his current project down and carries a candle over to take a peek.]

I am not surprised in the slightest that the Lady has taken advantage of this place. She would sometimes be working with scraps during one of my visits. I figured she must have gotten them from somewhere in the city.

[He's flipping through the engine files...]

Were you able to get an idea of what files they were on? Any labels...?

She said she's been scavenging the cars and whatever she can get her hands on in this place. [ A beat as he considers what he's currently draped on. ] Makes you wonder if she appreciates old cars or if she was saving this one for last?

[ Since it seems to be in one piece. Scooting off of it to open up the hood. ]

No labels. Just empty spots in there.

[ One more push to success, the Lady had said. One more? Is this really the last...? That seems a little hard to believe, Mikami doesn't want to be so optimistic. But it is greatly motivating. If things are going to come to an end one way or another, they'll have to hurry up if they want to gain the upper hand.

After the motive, Mikami doesn't show again for an hour or two, but you'll eventually find him making lunch in the clergy housing kitchen. Lunch is heated canned food, because of course it is. Mikami can be found staring at the cans (or more squinting at them through candlelight) and sighing deeply. ]

What I wouldn't give to have access to a proper supermarket again...

[ He's thoroughly tired of Krawkow.

Later, in the early afternoon, Mikami can be found at the auto shop. He's ignoring the big projects and mostly digging through the small metal parts, weighing them between his fingers thoughtfully.

He's in the gym earlier than usual today, at around 6pm. Someone seems to be intending to attend the party? Huh. What's also odd is that he's not solely focusing on weightlifting and instead hitting a punching back with some concentration - which does not make up for his bad form, he is clearly no martial artist. ]

Have you tried looking at what they have in the Opera House Kitchen?

[ You know, where they have fresh stuff. ]

I would be more than happy to share my thought process as I work on something foreign in the meantime.

[He picks up the phone and flips it open for Iago to take a closer look. It's not powered on at the moment though, because Rideaux would probably shank him for wasting precious battery when he's not actively testing it for a charge.]

It really is a fascinating piece of technology- something that is not at all present in my world. But what Rideaux asked of me should be simple enough, even if I am not entirely familiar with the finer details.

[Because Rideaux would probably kill him if he went to take it apart. The possibilities just keep escalating in violence.]

Please. This will take me no time at all to complete. I am fine with leaving it be for now.

[It's not even for him, so while he's pressed to get it done, he's not pressed to the point of passing up other curiosities.]
