After Trial Mingle

[ Seems like everyone is either hiding from any blood bending, wanting to take the time to think, or just doing their on thing after a trial as long as that one is. So here's a general mingle for after the trial or the rest of the weekend. ]

[hard to tell! The door is closed, and if Ango tries to open it, there seems to be something heavy blocking it]

[Welp. Time to go around to the side and knock on the window instead.

He's had to do this with Dazai a few times so he knows how to count the windows and get to the right room at least.]

[Zangetsu is in! He's on the bed, ostensibly reading a comic book, but more just staring out into space. The object blocking the door is a heavy box made of ice.

He looks up when the window is tapped, and he rolls his eyes. He opens the window and growls at his visitor]

What. Ya here to give me a lecture, too?

I was actually going to ask if you wanted to help me with something. One of my jobs used to be keeping written records of the recently-deceased, and I keep it up now as a habit. You know far more about Ulquiorra than I did, so if you want to help I could certainly use the assistance.

[He's also inviting Zangetsu to help with any potential feelings he might need help working out, because Zangetsu has so far proven to have the emotional maturity of a preschooler running around with a knife.]

.... Ulquiorra, huh.

[he looks away. Well. That's better than talking about himself or being bitched at, so...]

Fine. I'll move the box. Go back around.

[indeed, the door is unblocked by the time Ango comes back around. For how much raw meat Zangetsu is keeping on ice in his room, it doesn't smell awful. It's pretty chilly, though.]

[YEAH UH. THIS SURE IS A MEAT LOCKER.

Luckily Ango is wearing his dumb suit so he can deal with the cold for a little bit. He's brought a special notebook with him, and he flips it open to one of the pages.]

This is what I have so far. Any information you can offer up to fill it out more would be helpful.

[Zangetsu doesn't seem to be bothered by the cold at all, having found a short sleeved shirt somewhere to wear with his hakama. He takes the notebook and reads the offered page]

Heh. Seems like you distilled him down to his nihilist essence, Sakaguchi. I'm not sure he'd be happy to be so easily read, or what. [he hands it back] Even when I thrashed him back in our world, he only seemed mildly surprised. More irritated and confused than anything. Unless you got any questions, I don't have anything to add. Not really.

It is my specialty, so I suppose I will take your answer as proof that my skills haven't gotten rusty.

I know he wasn't human, so I was wondering if you could explain that part a bit more?

Hah. [Zangetsu flops on his bed, propped up with a variety of pillows stolen from the dead people's rooms] How long ya got? It's a lot of information.

It's not as if we have anywhere else to be.

[Then he just. Stops.

And looks at the ice.

And tries his best not to look at the meat because he can fukken guess what it is.]

Though, if I may request it, can we move to my room? I think it might get too cold for me in here eventually.

Is it really cold in here? I can't tell. But sure, why not.

If it's cold enough to freeze ice, then it's cold.

[But yes, come to the warmth of his room. he's got bed stuff in a neat pile against a wall since people come and stay with him sometimes. 'people' being Dazai.]

Ah, well, I have to touch it up every few hours.

[but he'll follow Ango to his room and help himself to the bed stuff pile. c o m f y]

... Ah. Where ta start... In my world, a person's soul is attached to their body with a literal chain. As long as that chain is intact, the soul can return to the body. That's how ya get "out of body" experiences. If the chain breaks, yer dead. The chain attaches right here. [he gestures to the center of his chest] With me so far?

I think so. Is the hole formed by having the chain removed?

Got it in one. The longer a Soul lingers in the world of the living, the more that chain degenerates. Eventually, there's nothin' left but a hole. That's when you get a Hollow. Their heart is corrupted by that emptiness, and becomes a mask over their face. The Soul's body becomes more monstrous. So... then ya got a Hollow. The new Hollow starts tryin' ta fill the emptiness by eating other Souls, usually those of their loved ones. A Hollow eats, and gets stronger. Eventually, normal human Souls won't help any more, and Hollows start eatin' other Hollows. Noooow, we're startin' to get a pileup of souls all in one form! Make sense?
