From what you can see, all the lights in the opera house are turned on. Only when you enter and see the open doors that lead into the main theater, you can see that room's lights are currently turned off. It's very dark in there.

Like before, Rembrandt escorts everybody to the stage. In the dark you still can see the many blue-eyed things you may be getting used to. They're still very scared of Rembrandt, staying as far away from the assistant as possible. The stage is illuminated by the spotlights, the only light in this theater.

The Lady and Rembrandt are at their balcony. She stands up, addressing the group:

"After the fiasco somebody I won't name caused yesterday, I'm glad to see someone else had the courage to do what was needed. This time it's a valid murder. To the culprit: I wish you good luck, darling. Let's see you get away with this murder."

Someone seems to be pleased, unfortunately. Anything that makes the Lady pleased can't be good, can it?

Let the trial for the death of Olivert Reise Arnor and Sirius begin.

I'm no idiot either! Or at least I'm not stupid enough to mix cleaning products like that! If I did, I would have at least used the fume hood so I don't pass out from the gas!

Could poisoning count as damage for the doppelganger? That could explain why only the sludge was left uncleaned - the person cleaning disintegrated midway through.

Now that I have not experimented with personally, but replicas do seem to function exactly as the original on a biological level...sludge aside, naturally.

Honestly, I cannot confirm this. But Seteth brought the cleaning supplies along with him, yes? We could perform an experiment right here. But we would need to make sure of everyone's safety...

[Maybe they can find a way to do it in a semi-closed environment?]

That isn't something we can really test, but it would explain a lot.

Exactly! I've seen it myself when I had to ask the thing to help finish the artwork over the weekend. It applies the finishing touches, and you don't notice a difference in style.

The double would only know what you know, yes? With it being a copy of myself, it would understand the dangers of mixing cleaning chemicals.

Enough. All we need to establish is that the doppelganger will follow even dangerous orders if given, and whether or not it has self-preservation.

And even if it was or if he himself did the cleaning - there was something burning in the kiln that we could not identify. It could have been a mask.

Yes! I've had it do chores while I was busy with my memorial portrait project, and I didn't come home to a room that smelled so strongly.

Well, if those are used to remove unpleasant smells, then I suppose it could be something entirely innocent. At the same time, if you understood the potential source of the smell and how dangerous it was...

If I did send my double to clean the kitchen, it would at least done so as well.

But it would have been frustrating to learn that your double didn’t think to do that, wouldn’t it? I know I would grumble about it a bit, if it were me.
