finer food, but no music
[Well that was...unpleasant, to say the least. Two more deaths, but this time there's the matter of whatever's happening to Seteth as well.
Ignis is trying not to think about it, which means he's thinking about it a lot, which means he spends a few moments pacing and trying to figure out what to do. He thinks back to the party - for as much as you could call it that - that Olivert hosted, and, well... He's not sure how much morale can be boosted, but it's worth a shot, isn't it?
The decorations of the opera house are much simpler this time around, but the food is noticeably better, between the actual operational kitchen and the fact Ignis is much more skilled than Olivert. The food is well made and it even looks delicious from where it's set up, and there's a sign outside the opera house that reads:]
A not as grand feast, for all of us to enjoy.
Attendance is not mandatory, but it might be better than staying alone.
Catered by Ignis Scientia.
[At least there are less rose petals this time.]

A God came down to my world, five years ago. He systematically killed criminals and made a better more peaceful society. It's... it's about the way it worked. There were those who opposed God and via their investigation, some information came to the public.
A name. A face. Sometimes only a face. And the person would die. There were theories, around those interested, that the people could be controlled into different manners of death. Now, I have to wonder if they could be controlled into even more.

Maybe Rean was soft, but the idea of criminals being killed 'systematically' sounded like it presented a multitude of problems. ]
That sounds troublesome and a little frightening, to be honest. If someone could use that phenomenon to really manipulate people into doing things...then the potential for that going south was rather high, as we've seen just in what happened with Suzaku.

[ There's conviction behind those words even if Mikami is otherwise very much evoking the image of a damp blanket. ]
Kira was just. There was another, one, who was far less righteous, but Kira reigned him in within moments. Our world's crime rate dropped by 70%. By all accounts, society is more peaceful now than it has ever been.
[ His speech becomes faster and more impassioned as he keeps going, then he cuts himself off. ]
But now the question of agency has arisen.

...He still didn't like the idea, but it seemed to have brought some peace. Though, he wondered how long that would last. He didn't normally think of things like that, but it didn't seem like a sustainable way to keep peace, to him. ]
...That's...
[ ...It was a lot to think about, so maybe he should table that for the moment. ]
In your world? Because of what Kira's done?

[ He can't do it. He can't invent some social problem regarding agency and make Kira look bad. And so that leaves him... ]
I have a gap in my memory. There's a day in my recent past that I cannot recall whatsoever. That's what worries me.

...I'm sorry to hear that. But, I think I can understand that dilemma now that you've explained it to me.
I'll be glad to continue listening if you think you'll need an ear, alright?
