finer food, but no music
[Well that was...unpleasant, to say the least. Two more deaths, but this time there's the matter of whatever's happening to Seteth as well.
Ignis is trying not to think about it, which means he's thinking about it a lot, which means he spends a few moments pacing and trying to figure out what to do. He thinks back to the party - for as much as you could call it that - that Olivert hosted, and, well... He's not sure how much morale can be boosted, but it's worth a shot, isn't it?
The decorations of the opera house are much simpler this time around, but the food is noticeably better, between the actual operational kitchen and the fact Ignis is much more skilled than Olivert. The food is well made and it even looks delicious from where it's set up, and there's a sign outside the opera house that reads:]
A not as grand feast, for all of us to enjoy.
Attendance is not mandatory, but it might be better than staying alone.
Catered by Ignis Scientia.
[At least there are less rose petals this time.]

[If Dazai won't stop him, then Ango will go ahead and describe his co-workers briefly. But fuuuuck writing it out since we haven't seen most of them.]
Taneda-san is the head of our department. He's a good man, I think you would get along with him.

He will have folded up a little bird to toss over the railing behind him in that time. Working on the piece with the name of the power on it to fold it into a cat. ]
Ah, that's a name I've heard of.
[ From Mori and maybe even "Sensei" ]
I don't think I could get along with him considering our positions.

You seem like you're happy working there.

[ Opening his eye as he says that. ]

[Given that Dazai hasn't killed him yet, it's probably okay.]
Different departments before and after. The old one was much darker.

I figured out you were a spy that night in the bar.
[ It's okay, until Oda has a target on his back. ]

...I knew I was going to be extracted soon. After that, I wouldn't have been able to see the two of you on friendly terms again. Call me sentimental, but that was the hardest part of it all: not being able to say a proper 'goodbye'.

It was the umbrella and your clothes. You were completely dried, while the umbrella was wet. You also knew at least one of us was bound to be there, which is why you had that antique watch in there.
[ He'll offer over the paper cat to Ango. ]
I'm assuming Boss knew about it, too. You did work closely with him and you're still alive.
no subject
Oh yes, he did. And the reason he kept me alive was that my life became a bargaining chip. By not ordering my death after I left, he got some rather nice perks.
[Like a license to operate within the city.]

There was only one thing that he would trade for, but would the Special Ability Department hand that over just for one operative.
Dazai's expression turns serious as he tries to figure out what Mori may be up to this time. ]
There's only one thing he wants from them, but I don't see them giving that out easily.
[ He has x doubt. ]

[...]
He also used me to create a dangerous situation that he just happened to have the solution to, and told the Special Ability Department that he would take care of that problem as well as 'forgiving' me.
[yeah, Ango got played hard. He's not proud of it.]

Dazai's expression darkens for a moment, as he recalls playing Mori's games and how sometimes their talks felt like walking on knives. ]
That sounds more like it.
[ And considering both the timing and Ango's reason for everyone going separate ways before... ]
Mimic, right?
no subject
[Look at him, not mentioning Odasaku's part in it.]
no subject
Mori wouldn't have allowed that unless it was part of the plan. ]
He also got the bonus of driving me out.
[ He starts to laugh. ]
Really. After denying me death for so long...
[ It's funny. It's really funny. Mori kept him there by his side for so long. He challenged him, push missions on him, gave him something to do and strive for...
It's really funny. ]

[Let's just gloss over what actually happened kthnx]
So, now you know. If you want to hold my betrayal against me and end our friendship now, I will understand.
no subject
There's a beat before he lowers his gaze. Maybe Ango wants to run? ]
I told you, it's useful to keep you by my side.
[ How do you tell someone you want them to stay ]
no subject
...if that is what you want.
[It seems like he's still holding back something in his heart, though. Their friendship isn't rank 10 yet.]
no subject
Thanks for the information, Ango.
[ Something softens for a moment in gaze before he starts to leave. ]
no subject
Wait.
[He's getting up now, and he'll leave the papers there for the time being. They're nothing important anymore anyway, most people won't even be able to read them.]
I'll walk back with you.
no subject
If that's what you want.
[ He'll wait for him. ]
no subject
[He doesn't want Dazai to hate him, in this time or any other. He wants to be forgiven.
Though it's not really forgiveness if the other party doesn't know what happened, is it? There's a thought for Ango to chew on as they walk back to the housing area.]
