Fine Food(?) and Music(???) Await You

[Well that was truly a heartbreaking matter, to say the least. But what follows will be important. If they crack now, there will be no telling what their future holds. So now, more than ever, it is important that they hold together.

Few seem prepared to rise to the occasion, so it is left to Olivert to prepare something truly spectacular.

As the room is prepared, he hums and serenades himself quite happily. It's a good amount of work but he doesn't seem to mind doing it himself, although he would never turn down a few extra hands if they wanted to assist.

The important thing is that the Opera House has been decorated with lights and tables and rose petals aplenty. Enough to brighten up their little gathering. Amongst the tables there is food, but considering at least some if not all of them were the prince's doing, perhaps a little caution may be in order. There is at least probably a fifty/fifty percent chance of it being an edible dish!

Outside there is a sign made up to draw their numbers in.
]

Tonight, a Grand Feast, to be shared amongst friends.
Everyone is highly encouraged to attend, though it need not be mandatory.
In the darkest hours it is important for the brightest lights to shine.
If necessary, tonight that light shall be me.
Wonderful music and food will be provided, you only need bring yourself.

Prepared by Olivert Reise Arnor.

[Trust nothing about this.]
drydrown: congratulations! (BOW ♡ it's fucking nothing!)

Would you have voted for him...? If we hadn't found anyone guilty by the end of things. Would it have been him, or did you have someone else in mind?

[He is so curious about this, he just hadn't wanted to re-engage with Mikami just to go HEY QUICK QUESTION WHAT THE FUCK regarding the statement made about voting out criminals.]

He was one of two options.

[ He's being cagey about this because maybe it isn't the greatest idea to parade around who he wants dead, but.... he's also a man filled with disgust that he has a hard time hiding. ]
drydrown: (WINK ♡ rip you all to pieces of course!)

I suppose fifty-fifty odds of hitting the right one completely by chance weren't horrid.

If you're concerned I'm going to keep pressing you into admitting something, don't worry. You can keep your thoughts to yourself for now, it isn't like they trouble me any.

I'm almost surprised at how neatly the scum decided to abide expectations and go first.

[ Duly noted, he won't divulge further. Though it's not hard to figure out, presumably. ]
drydrown: we have no use for you here (TCH ♡ looks like you've been busy)

...My surprise lies more with the amount of cooperation he offered once cornered. He did draw it out unnecessarily, but we were almost granted a favor in that as well, given that we know more about those...powers than we did.

It was oddly courteous, if aggravating.

[ There's a moment of hesitation here, because as much as Mikami hates to find use in criminals, Cumore has a point. ]

He framed himself rather like a martyr, which given the framing of the motive was likely to land with a lot of people here. It changes nothing about the fact that he killed the youngest among us, but it may somehow appear mitigating to some.

Surprising that he cared.

Oh, whether he truly cared or not hardly matters in the end, and any sympathy he managed to garner was utterly unearned. I meant what I said, that criminals and murderers absolutely deserve to be punished to the fullest extent that we're able.

At least the Lady is doing us all a favor and bloodying her own hands further, as opposed to making us do it. Small mercies, I suppose.

[ It's a relief that, however utilitarian, Cumore is at least not entirely disagreeable in his opinions. ]

For once, her self-aggrandizing tendencies really come in our favor. Now if she was only actually efficient in clean executions... Well, we can't expect too much. Hopefully it will be a bit until we have to go through this mockery again.

["Good to see you don't completely suck" is probably the highest praise Cumore is going to get from anybody in this game, let's be honest.]

I suppose we should be grateful the execution wasn't more sadistic, given how upset she seemed during it. She's not the best at keeping herself in check, is she.

Unless all of this is an elaborate ruse? No. I don't believe in the ruse theory myself, though.
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

[personal profile] drydrown 2020-01-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Bluntly put, I don't either, simply because this eeems a good amount of effort to go to already.
