The clock strikes eight. The intermittent showers that dominated most of yesterday had, at some point during the night, escalated to a complete downpour that drenched the streets. Maybe that's why the morning might almost feel refreshing today—while it can't be said that the birds are chirping and the sun is shining brightly, the breeze is cool without being frigid while the sky is bright with the half moon.

Nevertheless. The deadline for Tuesday's motive was laid down as Friday, and amongst the pleasant earthy smell of the rain may be a tinge of something else.

Well now, how shall you spend this morning?

[ Alright, so while Shin is taking care of sketching the body, Mikami is going to take mental inventory of all the stuff that is around here. Where around the body are the books and knives located? ]

[Well, first of all, most of the items just seem to be knives and stationery, like pens and paper. There's like, a shitload of knives?? Think around 12 of them or so and about 4 pens.

Second of all, Mikami can note that there's no real rhyme or reason to how the items are scattered around the body; they're just sort of there, like someone decided to make an Elliot pancake and then add some sprinkles of knives or something (although none of the items are on top of his body).

Third, Elliot still kind of has a bookbag slung around his shoulder and it's definitely open, with some paper kind of spilling out of it.]

[ ... literally why so many knives. Mikami is going to give a cursory glance to those first. Are any of the knifes dirty or bent or damaged in any way? ]

[The knives are... well, as clean as you'd expect from lying around in the rain so they're probably not pristine but there isn't any blood or anything either. They're not damaged either.

...A couple may be recognizable as being from the clergy housing, by the way.]

[ Well, that's some knifes Mikami will never cook with again....

Alright. Are any of the pens bloody? Are the papers empty or is anything on them?

Mikami is going to go through this stuff before the book bag. And god, he hates every second of picking up wet paper. He needs a shower already. ]

[The pens are also pretty innocuous! Again, they look like they've been sitting in the rain for a bit now so.

As for the papers, well, some of the ones that ended up closer to Elliot's head might look varying shades of pink even if they're still kind of drenched with rainwater. However, sheets further off and around the feet pretty much just look like wet paper. There's no writing on any of them, regardless.]

[ Okay good, time to drop all of these off to the side and never touch them with his bare fingers again, brrrr.

Bookbag time. Let's take out the contents for examination! ]

Body Check

[It takes a few minutes for the main figure sketch to be completed. There's a considerable amount of detail for something done on the fly, but it's a lot better than Mikami's stick figure.

With that, he holds the notebook under his arm for a moment as he kneels in for a closer look.]

[Just for some body context, Elliot's lying face down on his stomach with his right arm under his chest and his left just... sort of flung out there.

What part is Shin going to be getting a closer look at?]

[ He's got that noted in the initial sketch.

He carefully moves the bookbag off the body and sets it to the side for Mikami to check out... Just in case that bag was hiding anything under it.

Which means he's gonna look closer at the torso. ]

[If Shin's rolling the body over to see the torso, there's a couple things he might note. First off, is that the body is pretty stiff, so he might not have an easy time of it. Second, as he turns Elliot over, it's going to be obvious that there's some blood underneath the body, mostly centred around the head although some of it would have seeped into the clothing and is smeared on his face.

Third, beyond his shirt and nice sherpa jacket having some blood around the collar area, there's nothing immediately obvious about his torso although from the whole moving his body thing it's also pretty obvious that Elliot's neck is kind of bent oddly and not really in a comfortable position.]

[ Hm... Rigor Mortis set in... And this man has bled out.

He'll take a closer look at the head first, taking a moment to sketch out what he sees and make notes, before he gently brushes a hand against the back of Elliot's neck in hopes of feeling any broken bone that might be there...

He doesn't mind getting a little blood on him while he's touching the body. ]

[So, let's just get the neck out of the way, first of all. It definitely feels broken with some of the vertebrae shifted out of place and responsible for that awkward bend.

The head, though... well, it's pretty disgusting, to be honest. It's quite a large fracture more on (his) right side and close to the top of his head, and it's to the point where the skull looks kind of caved in, with some of the bone bits mixing around in the grey matter. There isn't that much as far as blood goes though, although his head is definitely still wet with rainwater.

Maybe it's some kind of miracle though considering all this, but underneath the layer of blood caking Elliot's face, his eyes are closed and the rest of his face is more or less unscathed.]

[ Well! Definitely noting that in the first sketch he drew and drawing the state his head is in... It might be a little frightening how he makes no effort to censor the head trauma. It's a quick sketch, but he still makes notes of the details all the same.

When he finishes up, he goes down and checks the chest and arms. ]

He's going to be careful though as he steps around the evidence, but Dazai is here checking the knives. More specifically, he's going to count the knives. Does it look like to be the same amount of knives that Elliot had during his peaceful protest in the library? ]

[More or less, yes, assuming Elliot's protest set wasn't confiscated by Seteth or something somewhere along the way. Either way, there's about 12 such knives from the milk bar, the clergy housing and the opera house restaurant scattered about.]

[ Hi back again for an additional thing.

The paper and books all over (the ones that are closest to his head). Is the pink/watery blood just on the top of them? If he picks them up, is there going to be any of the pinkish blood water under them? ]

[The watery blood will basically be soaked through individual sheets of paper, so there would definitely be some still underneath. As for the books, the bloody water will still be underneath it but the pages touching the ground would also have absorbed some of it.]

[ Does it look like it started from the ground to be soaked up? Is there any blood on top of any of the papers/books? Basically trying to discern if all of this mess was here before or after any kind of blood may have fallen or splattered. Does the rain obscure that?

Also just... the general mess of all the papers and knives and stuff. Does it look like they were dropped from a height or just dropped/scattered from the ground? ]

[The rain does obscure that, unfortunately; basically the only thing you can tell about the sheets is that they are wet and contacted blood at some point, which ended up just kind of mixing with the water to make some kind of homogenous, dilute mixture.

The mess of papers and knives is all around Elliot's body with some of it being quite a bit of distance from him. You wouldn't get this level of spread from, say, someone tripping over and taking a spill on the ground.]

[ Okay. So either it was dropped from a higher distance or someone was yeeting things around deliberately.

That does help in a way. And none of it is ON the body?

Also is there anything wrong with any thing near the body? With the ground/concrete?]

[None of it is on the body, no!

Beyond one poor kid going splat on the ground? Not particularly. There are some more traces of dilute blood and clots and what have you stuck in some of the small crevices of the cobblestones, but that's more or less expected considering the weather. And the items scattered around could be in better condition, sure, but they're not really showing any unusual signs of damage or anything.]
